I suspect the whole point of making you wait to put on a wristband is so that you don't put it on loose enough to where you could slide it off and give it to someone else to use???
Once those things go on they don't really come off without destroying it, so its not like the people at the gate could just adjust it if you did it wrong.
We need to make sure people dont put them on. I think it makes it easier when we scan them at the tollbooths and whatnot
I kinda wished they'd have a warning paper in there with the writstbands to tell people NOT to put them on when heading in.
They've warned people for weeks, in e-mails and on their website. Plus, i'm sure the included instructions will say not to put on the wristband.
Yes, it says not to put them on:
"DO NOT PUT YOUR WISTBAND ON BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT THE BONNAROO MUSIC FESTIVAL. Bonnaroo Staff will apply your wristband for you once you arrive at the festival gates. THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!"
haha. I love that it says "THIS IS IMPORTANT". That's code for just ignore everything I said.

also, i remember something about being able to register your tickets online... even if say 4 tix were bought with the same credit card, each individual person can register their ticket under their name.

That's probably one reason, though I would think there may be some others.

It's time to take an over/under on how many people roll in with wristbands on anyway.

I'm getting really excited now that tickets are shipping out. However, I'm a little disappointed there's no commemorative ticket, and I was really hoping for cloth wristbands again. I had to wear a plastic wristband in '09 when I worked staff, and it really began to chafe by the end of the weekend. Then again, I've got these gigantic ham hock wrists, so that might not be as much of an issue for most of you.
Still, though... they're on their way! That means Roo is right around the corner! WOOHOO!

Last year VIP's (who had these RFID wristbands) got commemorative tickets at the gate, where they hand out garbage bags and schedules/maps. Perhaps they'll do something like that again.

Yay, exciting! Boo to plastic, but we kind of expected that so whatever. The annoyance of wearing a plastic wristband really won't even register compared to the awesome that is Bonnaroo.
Besides, just going off of looks these ones LOOK a little more comfortable than the old plastic ones.
As for the issue of people putting them on early, I've been thinking the same thing. I read all the info on bonnaroo.com a while back and saw the warnings to NOT put them on early and just thought....yeahhh, a TON of people are gonna do that. Including some people who aren't trying to get away with anything and were just too lazy/dumb to read the information.
I'm actually a little disappointed, my cloth bracelet from last year actually just fell off yesterday and I was hoping to be able to replace it with an equally cool wristband. But I'm glad people are starting to recieve theirs! My friend bought her ticket the same time as me got her email today and I'm yet to recieve mine.

Yep, I pretty much just imagine VIP having a giant fields of green grass, immaculate bathrooms (comparatively) and a truck full of Victory and Brooklyn beers on tap.

Speaking of handing out things at the gate I have been shortchanged on maps schedule booklet last year. I would not have figured they would have ran out after 10 hours in line it looked like half of Bonnaroo was still behind me. Assholes anyone have an extra booklet from last year? And they better have one this year cause I am hitting Manchester Wendsday night.

We did not get one in line last year, however we stopped by the information booth. They did not have much information but had lots of booklets.
