Yea USPS sucks. Anytime they deliver a package to me they just leave it in front of the door to my apartment. They don't knock or anything, they just leave it there and hope you find it before anyone with sticky fingers does.
The f'cker was just gonna put them in the box. I thought I paid through the ass for signature confirmation.
I hate USPS.
They have just left ours every year, and we too thought we needed to sign. This year my wife was home at lunch when they dropped them off. Pretty expensive package to just leave lay there.
At least USPS puts it in the mailbox or at the door. Last year UPS or Fedex, whoever did the deliveries, stuck the thing in the gate facing the road at my neighbors house. They were out of town and if it weren't for the fact i was waiting for the tickets and knew that our stuff gets delivered to them all the time they could have been in the gate for a very long time.

I'm the only one who's upset about plastic over cloth? I understand cutting costs, but you still have to appease your customers.I just think it's a little rude, and environmentally unfriendly. Also I have sensitive wrists haha, and even if you don't I'm sure a plastic wristband over 4 days would be uncomfortable to anyone.

Have you even read this thread? It's basically four pages of people mad about plastic.

I don't think anyone is happy about plastic wristbands there have been like 5-10 comments about it already in this thread alone. You're just not paying attention.

How do you know it's "cutting costs" that is the reason for them being plastic?
I just think it's a little rude, and environmentally unfriendly.
Rude? That's silly.
Environmentally unfriendly? So is making 80,000 people wait in running cars in a long line for hours. But Bonnaroo does that. That can't be environmentally friendly.
Also I have sensitive wrists haha, and even if you don't I'm sure a plastic wristband over 4 days would be uncomfortable to anyone.
And there's the real issue . Your sensitive wrists.
Personally, the plastic or cloth don't make a big difference to me. I've had both and they're equally annoying to me. In fact....the cloth one was a little more annoying because the ends kept bugging me.
For the most part, it's not going to be that big of a problem for most people. There weren't many complaints from Coachella folks (and other festy's that have used it).

To the bolded, am I wrong in assuming so. For some reason I thought that was a safe assumption. (and by bolded I mean the first comment about the costs, the bold button isn't working I guess)
to the italicized I guess by rude I just meant inconsiderate to the comfort of their patrons, reiterating my point of my sensitive wrists. (oh jeeze I sound like such a fruit, I know haha)

^^ Hmm cool, well I can probly deal then haha, sorry to sound like a whiny sob. But when I went to Virgin mobile fest in 2007 the wristbands were rigid and annoying.
Its easy to complain now. But once I get on the farm I more then likely won't give a flying poop about something as insignificant and trivial as a plastic wristband.

I am going to bitch about something else other then cloth>plastic. I am going to lay down the law on the shitty choice of utilizing USPS, and before that Fed-Ex, I am going to rant about the pleasures of shipping UPS they always have everything scanned in from point to point you always know whaere your package is if it is out for delivery or if you missed said delivery and it is back at the hub. For 5 years I worked in a shipping receiving department and let me tell I dealt with every form of shiping and UPS is my gold standard. USPS your tracking number is WORTHLESS but I am sure people are finding this out. No wonder they are going bankrupt every time I have an option I choose UPS! And fuck DHL when I worked shipping and recieving my company dropped them after 6 months.

Agreed. FedEx has screwed up my packages on more than one occasion, and USPS's tracking numbers never seem to get updated quickly for me. UPS was also the only one that delivered to my house when I lived way out in the boons.
I am going to lay down the law on the Leno-y choice of utilizing USPS
Amen. Big fat cow didn't even get out of the truck. Was just going to shove it in the box. Somebody might have stolen my delicate wrist hurting evil plastic wristband!
People are making to big a deal over the plastic wristbands.. I have been on multiple vacations where I had to where plastic wristbands for a week at a time. After the first 2 hours I didnt even know that it was on my wrist. They are not uncomfortable bc you wont even know it is on your wrist

This is my first bonnaroo, but also my first festival. Me and my fiance are ecstatic to go. I don't think once, did I think aw Leno, they're plastic?! I guess I'm trying to say the advantages outweigh that tiny disadvantage, however I am skeptical about this whole RFID does have me wondering whose pulling our strings now. Someone is always behind the scenes...
To the bolded, am I wrong in assuming so. For some reason I thought that was a safe assumption. (and by bolded I mean the first comment about the costs, the bold button isn't working I guess)
I don't know for sure. How expensive can these RFID chips be? Surely they add something to the cost of the wristband. Also, Bonnaroo used to use plastic wristbands anyway, so I don't think that they'd increase their costs just to get cloth ones for the past few years and then decide the cloth was too expensive now so let's go back to plastic.
Finally, would cloth bracelets/wristbands even be able to hold the RFID chips? It's possible that the cloth is too flimsy/weak to hold the chip or something along those lines.
Apparently Coachella's were more cloth-like so I guess it is possible.
to the italicized I guess by rude I just meant inconsiderate to the comfort of their patrons, reiterating my point of my sensitive wrists. (oh jeeze I sound like such a fruit, I know haha)
As I said above....they used to have plastic wristbands anyway. I don't think that Bonnaroo is being any less considerate by going with these. I think that this is the way the wristbands have to be for the RFID chips (but honestly....I don't know much about RFID) and that having cloth with the chip wouldn't work.
Does anyone know of examples of cloth wristbands that have the RFID chips in them from past experiences?
edit: Seems like the posts above me said Coachella's were "cloth-like" so maybe it is possible. I did read some complaints about some of the Coachella ones breaking so maybe cloth isn't as strong to hold the RFID chip? I don't know.
