Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
For all you Prog Rockers, Stick Men is Ex- King Crimson as well.
Jus Sayin.
Oh jeez. I just saw this. Paul Mastelotto and Tony Levin? With Adrian Belew already there, I'm gonna have to go if AC Entertainment books King Crimson.
Looks like we have a significant contingent in the Downtown Inn.
Room party after the late shows in my room! I mix a mean cocktail...
YOU mix a mean cocktail? Check out the 96-oz cocktail I brought to the Brunch ;D
JHo snapped this pic (deargod it's atrocious of me - Superfurryanimal said I look like a mad scientist!) but it proves one thing: I'm serious about my drinks! Once we get to AVL, the BAR IS OPEN!!!
That's it, we're having a mix off! My specialty is called Pineapple Express. You'll have to show up to see what it is

And I'm quite sure I drank half of that party pump cocktail at the Brunch.
Since BEAK> is going to be there, do you think that increases the chance of Portishead being there?
yes.
Definitely.
I'm super excited for Beak>, Atlas Sound, and Dan Deacon already. Plus Moby seems like it could be a pretty fun show, but I can't remember listening to his music in almost a decade. And as always, I'm gonna check out those I don't know over the next few days.
I updated the first post with bands, and I'm going to check out days for additions now, so that'll be up soon. I'm getting more and more excited every day it seems. I'm also about to watch that Amon Tobin video you guys are talking about.

Dan Deacon and Stickmen on Saturday. Lunzproject on Sunday. That's all I could find. I tried jambase, windish, pollstar, and artists' sites/myspaces.
Also, if we'd been on our game, we could've noticed that Stickmen announced it last week on Levin's site. But that would be a lot to ask for. It says they will play a King Crimson heavy setlist on their tour, although I didn't really read the full post, just skimmed a bit. I'd love to see some King Crimson stuff!

Just got two tickets for this. So excited. I am fully prepped for the Lips, Passion Pit, Chromeo, Twin Shadow and Toro Y Moi. Just starting to listen to the Antlers more so was pumped about that add.

There will be pineapples! Sweet! Oh, it's on like Donkey Kong now! (FYI: mine's called the Candy Colada - created & named during an Inforooster gathering, so it's only appropriate we drink it in AVL. You'll have to figure out what all's in it. No, really...help me figure out what's in it, 'cause I never remember after I've had a few. Come to think of it, nobody else does, either!)

Can't make Moogfest, but I'm doing this ;D
(via Adrian Belew's website) Celebration of King Crimson Music and Much More... remember when I mentioned something special was being planned for our next tour? well, here it is:
the Two Of A Perfect Trio tour. the show will go like this:
stickmen (tony levin, markus rueter, and pat mastelotto) will play a set of their music then the adrian belew power trio (me, julie slick, and tobias ralph) will play a set of my music then tony, pat, and I will play a few crimson songs as a trio then both trios will take the stage for a glorious set of king crimson music including pieces from the double trio era. two drummers, two stick players, a bassist, and a guitarist, YOW! what a sound that's gonna be.
2011 marks my (and tony's) 30-year anniversary of being in king crimson, something I'm very proud of. this once in a lifetime show is a perfect way to celebrate.

I've wanted to see Moby live for years, and Amon Tobin is one name off my main wishlist. Super happy with these adds, but I have to say I think it's dumb the are already repeating acts (Dan Deacon), it's only the festivals second year. Meh.

Temptin' dates! And Jammin Java? Really? Has this place become legit while I was livin' in NC?

I've only been once. The sound is pretty decent and because it's so small if you get there early enough you're practically on top of the band. That's always a bonus. Plus it's a lot closer than Rams Head.
Anyway, before anyone passes judgment on Moby...'listen to Everything Is Wrong and his other 90s work. See exactly why guy became so highly regarded before his shit storm of underwhelming releases of the last decade.
Last year the last round was smaller/local bands. I'm felling like half of the 20 manes could be that and another half being mid-tier size bands.
Whats more is I'm thinking the "headliner" slots have been announced. Moby/Friday, Amon/Saturday, Lips/Sunday is what I'm starting to feel. And to be clear, I'm thinking the ACC 8-11 slot as a headliner.
The thing is, I wouldn't say there are necessarily headliners for this festival. Like you said, garageland, lineup placement will say very little about their timeslot and no act was unopposed last year. Not to mention that the start times for the biggest names changed each day--MGMT was 9:30-11 on Friday, Massive Attack was 11:15-12:45 on Saturday, and Pretty Lights was 10:30-12 on Sunday.
If there are official headliners for this fest, the line between non-headliner and headliner is pretty blurry.
Also, with the adds: I'd normally agree that they don't have another big name/headliner to announce. BUT, there are two things that lead me to believe there is still one headliner they're holding back: a)Capps saying this year's lineup is going to be bigger than last year's (so far, that's not the case); and b)tickets seemingly haven't been selling very well (there are still first tier tix available), but they don't seem too concerned about it. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes, but I haven't gotten any sense that they're worried about ticket sales, which could mean they're anticipating a spike in sales once they announce, say, Portishead. It's still possible that they could be just waiting for Portishead to announce a tour before announcing them for the fest.

Thats why I felt the need to differentiate what I think as the headliner. But your so right.
I couldn't care less if it's Crimson or not... at this point, I just want Robert Fripp. Bellew and the other boys of the post 80s lineups are fine, but... nothing touches the In The Court/Wake Of Poseiden and Red/Starless/Larks lineups and material.
