I officially read all 41 pages of this thread <wiping sweat off of my brow> and I am trying to make this work! If I def decide to go, I'll be flying into Chattanooga and riding up with Holls, Jack and SFA (thank you for the offer, Holls!) or flying into Charlotte (wicked cheap!!) and renting a car with LD. Checking out these flights and options carefully....
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I picked up a little inside info tonight. Apparently the outdoor stage is not going to be a small deal, like I had originally assumed, and will actually showcase some bigger named acts such as The Flaming Lips, STS9, and Passion Pit. Also, it will be located in the parking lot of the Renaissance Hotel...sources say.
Woah. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I buy this. Not only do I trust shmohawk, I have my reasons of my own. I'd go on and say add Moby to that list.
The where concerns me but I'm sure thats all been figured out ahead of time. Thanks for the info.

^ Cool. So what's everybody else going as? I'm still two quarts low on inspiration there...
My wife is in the same boat. We discussed this over the weekend. She's thinking Angry Birds. I told her if she did it I'd totally go as King Pig. Other than that I'll be everybody favorite supervillain for at least one day.

Word. Asheville at the end of October has the potential to be pretty chilly especially in the evening.
we were there this weekend and it's already cold. will be freezing for moog. jenn from wye oak commented on moog during the show. she just found out about it, she said "wow monster lineup, i'll have to drag some of my friends down here for that".

Holy shit! That is awesome, even though it will be freezing.

Good luck with that, bonzai! Hope you make it!
Thanks! I am pretty sure I "can", but trying to decide if I really should spend the money, especially since I'll have to fly. It's a very good possibility, though!

Some friends of mine who live in Boone, NC (not too far from AVL) said they had a few SNOW FLURRIES last weekend. Snow. The first freakin' weekend of October?!? Suddenly a warm costume doesn't sound so bad...

The source is definitely reliable, but yeah...it's definitely possible that person was told that it would be in the vicinity of the Renaissance, and took it to mean literally at the Renaissance. The source was definite that those particular acts were on the outdoor stage, but didn't go through a whole litany of acts. I didn't really inquire about Moby, but you could be right.
It will be pretty cold, though. Maybe they're trying to sort of innovate the chilly weather festival.
