Forgive my ignorance, but I need some help converting flac files to mp3. I always used Flac Frontend, but my computer crashed recently and I lost all my programs. When I try to install Frontend again, it gives me error messages no matter where I download it from.
Does anybody have any suggestions, or perhaps a better program to use?
Also, still hoping for the following shows:
Gary Clark Jr. Ben Sollee Junip Bela Fleck The Meters Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears Sunday Superjam
will do horrible, terrible things for a recording of !!!
Did you catch their set in 2008? There was someone that had an untracked, uncirculated recording of that one but I've failed in my recent attempt to re-establish contact with him. There should be another thread on this board related to that if you wanna take a stab at it KW.
I did wind up getting that one -- not sure if I traded with the guy or if he posted it on dime. I've gotta say this year was about 300 times better though, despite the lack of funchness

So you are saying that you have a copy of that performance?! I'd love it if you could set up a fileshare somewhere or maybe do a b&p if you've got time to. The 2008 show was awesome for me. This year I was too distracted wandering back and forth waiting to see if Bootsy was going to start his set to really get into it. I did catch their entire Sonic stage show up close and personal earlier in the day but that was in direct sunlight so didn't totally go nuts at it either. But back to my main point would you mind to hook me up with the 08 set please?

unfortunately, I definitely don't have it anymore...I hardly ever listen to live tapes anymore unless it's something I recorded myself. Would be glad to shoot you a copy of any of my masters, though (db.etree.org/rhinowing)
ITM, that software you posted doesn't seem to work either. Lol! Do you personally use it, or did you just find it with a quick search? The reviews on cnet are turrible, just turrible (in my best Sir Charles voice) But I thank you for steering me in the right direction. I found another piece of software and it's doing it's thing as we speak. I'll report back in when it's done.
And to answer your question, a friend and I have recently been working on compiling all of our boots from over the years and plan to put them up on Dime and Demonoid. I lost most of my stuff in a hard drive failure a couple years ago (no backups - I know, very stupid. I learned my lesson). I was lucky to recover a lot of it through friends and a few places online. It's been a long and tedious process, but it showed me the value of these online communities. I would have been SOL without them. Just as they were there for me, I want to be there for the next person unlucky enough to lose their entire collection.
Lichking - would you mind providing the ways that we can find the files that you were looking to share? It would be helpful at this point.
Hey Will...you spoke early on of having a partial for eminem. Any future plans to post that up somewhere? Look forward to meeting you at U2 in a couple weeks.
May be dangerous to mention now with everything getting yanked but do you still have plans with this one?

Noticed yesterday that largeheartedboy's posts and links disappeared from here and his blog. Really bummed about this! Any ideas as to what caused this, or shall we just assume the powers that be flexed some muscle?
Does anyone know if downloads of these shows exist? Bela Fleck & The Flecktones Ray Lamontagne Primus Alison Krauss & Union Station Deervana (Nirvana cover set) Gogol Bordello Mavis Staples Explosions in the Sky

i wonder what the underlying thinking is. are they cracking down on video rips of the webcast and took out largeheartedboy's entire collections as collateral? arcade fire had their whole performance up on their youtube channel and now it is gone, but i don't know if it is related.
i guess i can understand why they did this, but it really bothers me. i've never gotten suppressing an audience's desire for your product, particularly if you are not going to even try and sell it to them well, which to me, bonnaroo hasn't. in 9 years we've had 5 dvds by my count (not including this year yet, we'll see), and they've gotten crappier every year. it seems like such a major expense to have multiple cameras at about every performance recording everything and for what? it took 10 years for one more screen to be added to the second stage!
i guess i'm just bitter b/c i imagine the bigwigs at superfly and ac eating corn out of their minds and watching return to thunderdome. i mean, i would buy that and about 30 more sets if they made them available in some way!!

Since they allow audio recording I'm not sure I understand the removal of audio only boots. I'm sure these rips will be all over torrent sites soon, there's no flexing of the muscle that has ever put a long term stop to that. Bonnaroo is tiny compared to the giants fighting, and losing, that battle.

Dont' think any boots were removed. Just the videos. Largehearted boy was a list that had the videos as well......maybe he was asked just to take the whole thing down but i don't think the actual torrents were taken down.

I guess the new videos provided by Bonnaroo explain why they wanted everyone's stuff down, they're just looking to drive traffic to their site. Pretty cool anyway. www.vevo.com/bonnaroo
I haven't started checking out the quality yet but I'm digging the idea and effort.

They originally streamed roo this year, don't think those are new as they've been on the site since the streaming.

Not many shows I went to either, it was cool to get to see things I missed. I'm surprised they haven't found a way to market that content a bit better. The DVDs are kind of sporadic and there isn't even a way to buy all of that recorded content if you wanted too. I'd definitely like to have some professional video from some of the shows I saw.
