I doubt it has anything to do with Roo next year. I would be willing to bet AC Ent. is affiliated with the venue in Atl. But it certainly doesn't hurt our chances.

Basically, it's not a confirmation or anything, but it's a sign they like the band. I don't really know why FF haven't played yet, it seems like a great fit for the fest.

Was there even a Bonnaroo poster for AC from 2009 to begin with? Seems kind of weird that the prize would be a special Bonnaroo Animal Collective poster.
Their Which day-time set was hands-down the biggest Roo scheduling blunder. This has to happen and soon. An epic rebound.
It absolutely baffled me that they scheduled them in the slot that they did. I was too far back so I couldn't hear anything and it was just so. Freaking. Hot.
Yeah, some girl passed out right next to me before it even started and I did my best to help her out. Not that I was in the best of shape myself.
That scheduling, and my refusal to change my party favor plans, made for a looong tough day.
Meh... thanks but no thanks. One of the most undeservedly overhyped bands out there right now, IMO.
Light shows are fun and all, but if a band needs to be late night to keep me entertained, then I don't really think they're worth my time, to be honest. I'm pretty sure I'd still be shaking my ass to Daft Punk even if they were on at two in the afternoon.

Ah ok, since it came right after my post it seemed like a response.
For what it's worth I just think Animal Collective are a lot more than a light show, they're one of the best live bands around. They just happen to have a great stage show to go with it that fits better at night.

No, I get that. I dunno... just not for me I guess. I find too much of their material kind of directionless and experimental/weird just for the sake of being experimental/weird. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose. As long as there was at least some good stuff going on in the tents I wouldn't be too opposed to the idea. It's not like this year's picks for late nights were terribly exciting for me either, Black Angels not withstanding.

Is anyone interested in hearing one of the more recent boots from the shows they've had. The AC board has a couple really good ones from the past week.

I enjoyed their Pithforl show. It was weird and felt very empty and directionless a lot, but overall I liked it. Although not all of my friends (all of whom are big AC fans) agreed. A few were actually pretty upset.
I really like Animal Collective and would be into them playing a late night set. My only beef with their shows is that the majority of their set is unreleased material. When I watched their pitchfork set, I only recognized about four songs. I would like it if they would play more of their released material during their shows.
