Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
I think I found something. Snow Patrol's U.S tour ends on May 19th in Biloxi at the Hard Rock. Next show is late June in Finland. The show before that is Houston so I can see them getting added to Hangout.
I'm not familiar with there music so I don't know if this is a good thing or not.

I noticed the same thing the other day...I'm not familiar with them either but I know a few people who might be more inclined to go if they're added.
I just booked my flight. $600 bucks... WAY more than I anticipated! And my DMB summer tour tickets were confirmed through Warehouse today too. So 2 tickets times 2 nights + flight equals over 900 dollar day. Oye.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
They didn't have any late night shows on Sunday last year so I'd be surprised if they did this year. It's definitely possible though, and I'd be all for it!
True, but they did the first year of Hangout. Bad rain in the afternoon cancelled Matisyahu's set so they moved it to late night after Trey. The first 500 people will festival wristbands that weren't jerryrigged on or whatever got in. That show was SICK, the whole crowd was levitating.
Then the mic went out! I snuck in through the kitchen and then some to get into that show. That whole Sunday afternoon was dynamite. Trey was special. So was chanting "Fuck BP!" with Ben Harper. And dancing in the sand with Franti. And Keller Williams with 100 others in the driving rain. And taking shelter in the Pink Pony. The 1st Hangout was special.
I wouldn't ever count on a Sunday LN. The weather and lack of attendance made that Matisyahu show unique.
Coheed is touring with Moving Mountains and Pianos Become the Teeth right up until the Hangout. It's probably a safe bet those two bands will be added to the bill though I know nothing about either of them.
Coheed opens for the Iron Maiden summer tour starting a month later. Would be nice to get Maiden, but I know that's highly unlikely.

Dr Dog should be a blast! I'll be there for sure. Throwin' round the idea of going to the Frankenstein Bros 03/08 at the Soul Kitchen also. I'll definitely be at the 03/09 show though at the Vinyl... March is turning out to be a fantastic month for the scene! Anyone catching any of the Moon Taxi shows at the Hangout next week?
This opening slot for DMB has been around for a little while. I'd say its pretty likely but wouldn't lock it in until either the band confirms or they are on the additions.

prolly in about 10 days... hoping it will be something like: NMAS lettuce/soulive, 7 walkers, leftover salmon, atmosphere, jenny lewis, keller, marco (bustle in your hedgerow), torchered soul, karl D (maybe he can have a decent time slot this year), Gomez, foster the people, TVOTR, Fareed Hauque, mike gordon, Dr. John, Funky Meters, Orgone, the werks and uncle boogie pants - that would be some goooooood additions! heres crossing my fingies for more funk in the lineup, and they put sts9 on for one of the latenights.

I would love to see Lettuce, Dr. John, Mike Gordon, or Orgone.
And they can put Karl D on the opening set if they want to, but this time they have to agree to OPEN THE GATES BEFORE THE MUSIC STARTS. I was losing my mind last year when they didn't actually start letting the massive line of thousands of people in until the exact minute when the music started. whats up with that? I saw Karl play one song.

I missed mmw keller and karl D last year all due to their early morn time slots- i was still waking up, cooking breakfast, had to walk to the shuttle and wait... never made it in before noon- I guess its my own fault or my traveling companions, but i still blame the guy planning the set times- that was a fail. I consider keller, karl, and mmw the meat and potatoes of a fest lineup- and they all got served up before we even got started-they deservered 90 min spots in the evening imho
TVOTR is a good call, they are a solid addition to any fest. I think Orgone is a good bet too, as well as Dr. John.
I think we will get the Meters in some form, maybe OG Meters. Parliament hasn't played Hangout before and they are pretty easy to book lol..... New Mastersounds seem pretty likely (depending on tour schedule)
I think the additions are def going to beef this fest up. I think the fest knows all the heads and festi people are wondering WTF is up with this lineup after the two previous mega ragers.
They're gonna add in a bunch of funk/jam/psychedelic.

Really?? That is seriously bad. I would be pissed off, for sure!!

those are good adds flatbrim, would be stoked!! to get leftover salmon, 7 walkers, tvotr ,keller, mike gordon or the meters. I have full confidence that the additions are going to lift this lineup from the " brofest" negativity. I'd love some dead of any sort. could be out of reach but 311 or fogerty would be nice & rock that setting

I might have an extra ticket, but I won't know for a while.
Also, (and I know this is a loooooong shot) I was looking at Mumford and Sons' tour dates. They have some weird 3 date thing here, then are off for 2 weeks, then are back over the pond.

thanks highcountry, 311 WOULD do well at hangout! when thinking of who they should add to help out this lineup I thought of who would fit in on the beach- 7walkers and salmon would be ideal. when leaving the fest last year I thought "SCI HAS TO COME HERE!"-and I wasn't the only one ^ mumford and sons would be cool -> what about some BIG names like Beck or Herbie Hancock (I'm gonna go to beale street just to see jerry lee lewis>herbie>primus) I also think yonder would be a nice add. I can't say much about the head and the heart or edward sharp cause im not that familiar with thier music but I have a feeling they wont get my booty shakin' or face meltin'

New mastersounds would be great. I'd take the funky meters over the orig meters. I'd love GPJ in any form though, running pardners would be awesome.

I love the mastersounds. How good should we expect the additions to be? if h&h and Edward sharpe are locks that's a great start. I love to see a couple more nice adds along the lines of Mickey Bart band - Robert Randolph - thievery - t shorty. And a rap act worth getting excited for.

we don't have a lot of history to go on, only being the third year, but having said that the additions to hangout have been pretty big in the past. someone more resourceful then me posted the previous years adds in this thread and its an impressive list.
wait, here were 2011's late adds:
The Avett Brothers, STS9, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Brandi Carlile, JJ Grey and Mofro, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Big Gigantic, Soja, Railroad Earth, Greensky Bluegrass, Rival Sons and Honey Island Swamp Band.
Notice that all of those (save Brandi Carlile & Rival Sons) are festi bands....ten total. Both years have featured NOLA musicians too...
If you assumed that would be the case this year, a best case scenario for me would be: TV on the Radio Meters Dr. John Orgone Parliament New Mastersounds Of Montreal Lettuce 7 Walkers Amon Tobin (one can wish) TTB
Also, I fully expect Gov't Mule to be added to this lineuep.
