This is amazing news. I went to Music Midtown about 3 years in a row. I only live about an hour away and have friends scattered all over Atlanta. Wa-hoo!

I'm in the ATL area, the rumor was first floated on Twitter by The Atlanta Music Guide. I have not heard anything new in the last couple of days. I'll try to send them a message to see if there is anything new. I'm starting to think it might be some kind of publicity stunt though.
I will do my best to keep up with the rumors. My children were small. during the first incarnation of Music Midtown, so I never got the chance to go....I just didn't feel like they could hang with a whole day in the heat. Now, they are older and would either go with me or I could go solo. Incidentally, that is the weekend before my birthday!
I think we need to harass the facebook page to find out if it's legit or not. They now have 25 fans... and their post seemed to imply that once they got 25 fans we would get more information.
These are from Rodney Ho who covers Radio and Media for the Atlanta Journal Constitution. He has broken the Piedmont Park Green concert headliner the last two years, Paul McCartney and The Eagles, and usually has a good grasp of the grapevine on the Atlanta event scene when it comes to music.

This is an interview on Dave FM from March of this year with Peter Conlon one of the two original founders of Music midtown. In this brief clip he states that he is looking at bringing it back soon.
Looks like definite news is on the way for the return of music midtown. Also there is a 3 day listing on the permit meeting link, the 2nd link, for the traditionally one day Piedmont park green concert which could mean 2 big musical announcements in the next few weeks.

After we heard the news of our hockey team leaving for Winnipeg the mayor mentioned that some things would be coming up that would help soften the blow. I was thinking that we would get an MLS soccer team but maybe this is part of the plan. I'm not sure that this will please all of the disappointed hockey fans but I sure will be happy.
