wolfman: I just wanted to warn him because I'm pretty sure I scared him (or at least startled him) a few times at Camp Inforoo this year. He was pretty quiet... I just hope he knows what he is signing up for with Holls, Mayo, and I. We are not quiet in any way.

I booked a room at the Residence Inn Midtown for $119 a night including valet parking, and breakfast. I can easily cancel if we get somewhere else to crash for free though

This lineup is a pretty big letdown for me. I like The Black Keys and The Joy Formidable, but the rest of the lineup really isn't cutting it. Of course, all of that changes if they announce a second, Prince-headlined day...
i don't know how late the show in the park will go but this might be a cool after party show at The Earl Sat September 24, 2011 Doors at 9:00PM OK Productions presents: Meat Puppets
Headliners usually go on around 11:00 at The Earl, so it should be easy to get there if you skip out before Coldplay.

Despite this not doing enough for me to buy a ticket, It is a well booked fest at a good price. Should do well. Hopefully we can see this expand in the future, and these Friday rumors do have me intrigued.

Reading that article doesn't really get my hopes up for a Friday addition. Am I missing something? And would it be just Prince or a whole extra day of shows?

Still no press application. I feel like a jerk saying it, but that's probably the only way I go to this. I can't justify $55 for 60min of Joy Formidable + 75min of The Black Keys.
If anyone is up for getting together after the shows on Saturday or on Sunday let me know. BTW, There are no Sunday alcohol (retail) sales. I think that most of you know that but if you're counting on stopping by Trader Joes on Sunday to stock up on wine you may want to rethink that plan
What a gorgeous day on the meadow yesterday. Highlights for me where The Joy Formidable and of course the Black Keys. I could watch Dan Auerbach play for hours.
Really awesome day. I made it out there for Band Of Skulls, Manchester Orchestra, Young The Giant, The Black Keys, and Coldplay. We skipped Cage The Elephant to get a decent spot for Coldplay, although eventually bailed to greener pastures once people decided to make the field a Tetris board of bodies.
I really loved everything we saw; it was definitely the best Keys show I've seen, it really looked like Dan was loving it up there, all the energy the crowd brought. It was a straight up dance party.
That was the first time I'd seen Manchester Orchestra and I thought they were fantastic. The songs that I'm assuming are on Simple Math were great, so I definitely need to give that a listen.
Coldplay was phenomenal, as expected. They sound so rich and full live, and it's amazing to hear everyone singing along and just giving everything they have back to the band. I really liked the new songs, as well, although I really wish they had played "Death And All His Friends".
Amazing time. Hopefully it was a success so they can make it bigger and better next year.

^^ Why didn't we get to see you there?? It was by far the best Black Keys show I've seen also. The Coldplay show kind of took me by surprise and I loved it......

We had such a blast! The weather could'nt have been any better. What a great venue!
Young the Giant blew me away. The Keys made me a fan again. And Coldplay... I wept for most of the show. It was... beyond words for me. I would'nt have ever gone to a Coldplay concert before that show, but now I might. I know a lot of people would bitch, but they would kill it on the What stage.
I was thinking the same thing. Coldplay owned that field and really connected with that audience. I've seen them in Atlanta three times and I think Chris Martin has a genuine affection for the city. They would be great on "What"
