The Sheraton Columbia Town Center Hotel is three blocks away.
I have a room there for MMJ this Friday that comes to $119 after tax
But it looks like they are currently sold out for 9/10
Maybe a waiting list?
I'll be at the Sheraton this Friday night too!! We booked the Doubletree which is 1.5miles away for the Virgin Fest. Coming in on Friday and leaving Sunday morning. The Sheraton was running @$198 per night for those days, so I had to go with the Doubletree. Can't wait!!
Edit: Expedia shows Saturday as sold out, but i just checked Hilton.com and the Doubletree was available for $143.10 plus taxes and such
For those who have been there before. What is the weather like? Is there a need to bring anything like water or jackets?
If I'm remembering correctly, last year was a wee bit hot (I remember enjoying the free soaked/cold bandanas) and dusty, but nothing as bad as Roo. As far as rain goes, we'll have to wait for the forecast.

Have not been to FreeFest there but at the MMJ show I just saw them in the parking lot as I, and about a hundred other people, openly drank beer under the sign that said "absolutely no tailgating, open container, etc." Never saw them inside, but i am sure they were around somewhere. It's no smoking in the entire venue as well, but had no issues with my cigs or corn. I would imagine their presence would be more pronounced with the number of people at FreeFest though. Here's hoping I am wrong.
I smoked corn openly at almost every show at freefest last year... the cops are there, but don't cause trouble, and they won't give you trouble. They're there to stop fights, it seems.

Thanks for the replys, This is what i wanted to hear
I'll be at the extended stay america, had a reservation at SpringHill but stupidly only made it for one night, went to change it yesterday and the rates had doubled.
Maybe they mean under the pavilion areas? I remember going to ID Fest at Jiffy Lube Live and they said no smoking in the pavilion. *shrugs* I definitely saw and partook in smoking out in the open lawn. No worries.

Howard County law prohibits smoking in outside public areas as well. It also states in on MPP's website that "Howard County law prohibits smoking in public places. No smoking is allowed." But, I never had anyone try to stop me nor did I see anyone else get told to stop. I wouldn't worry about it.
I still haven't booked a hotel. I still have an extra ticket. I think I'm going solo, and will wind up staying somewhere near BWI. Ugh.
I would really love to have your extra. Also, if you were to stay in the general vicinity of towson, I should be able to give you a ride to and from the fest (~30mins)

If you are tailgating, you just need to put your beer in a cup
If it's still open right before hand, this is order of preference:
1. single females in their 20s 2. someone from the Northeast (New England, NYC area) - and doesn't smoke in the car 3. high post counts and/or names I can recognize (esp. from Brunch) 4. random guy from a fantasy baseball league 5. whoever Bunny mentioned on 8.20 6. anyone over 500 posts as of right now 7. random person in the parking lot, no scalpers though 6.

I guess 5th is better than a random lot wook. Dan will be proud!
Should I start a thread for the Virgin Brunch? If there are going to be more than 5 or so people we should probably make reservations.
