I am not gay and sexual orientation has never been in the orbit of my concerns but I do have a special appreciation to one exceptional gay man. Barney Frank. In my mind’s eye he is the champion of liberalism and a stalwart of decency. It’s quite sad to hear of his announcement of retiring from public office.
Mature sensibilities and the ability to think in the abstract avoid some of us. Sophomoric points of view and pop culture with some, tends to be the only depth attainable. I failed to realize this. I see the error of my statement, it was muddled, and I stand corrected.
