I just saw your post in the YAY thread and came back to modify mine here, but you were too quick! Good for you! If I google "new hires in Hartford area law firms," I will be able to find you?
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I wish my boss was here. This is the first and only time I've ever said that. I want to quit right this second, but can't. If I didn't have to drive home, I'd start getting quietly drunk at my desk.
Is your current job really that bad?
Hell I actually like my job but would still like to drink at my desk..... I have requested a Margarita Machine for Friday afternoons, and although my boss would also love one, we have been declined
I've been flirting with the idea of running down the block to Spiritus and grabbing something. It's 2:15, most of my office will be gone in a couple hours (hell, it's half-empty today anyway). I could easily work my way through a bottle of Bulleit poured into my coffee mug, then wind that into happy hour somewhere.

I see there is also a part of Hartford called "Frog Hollow". That sounds like it should be somewhere down south.
Ha! I work in Frog Hollow! Very low income... lot's of boarded up houses... gang violence... lots of drugs... and the college. All in one little community

And, uh, you might refrain from posting on Inforoo while you're on this date.
i'm not surfbum
@phi true but the date is taking place in my apartment so who knows.
Wait, wait. "Taking place in your apartment". Did you just ask this girl to come over and watch a movie or something? Cause that's not a date. That's "hanging out". Totally different.

Is "hanging out" what the kids call it nowadays?
In my mind, dating and hanging out are two different things. A date implies that you like someone and would like to get to know them better (and may involve getting busy) and to see if you two are compatible. "Hanging out" means that you just want to make out and/or get busy with this person but have no real intention of having a relationship.

Or is this just me?!? ???
Yeah, that is not what I thought you were saying at all. I see 'hanging out" as more of a platonic thing.

I can see the difference between a date and "hanging out" One is more formal than the other. I would feel strange asking someone to come over to my place a a first meeting. Would think she would also. But as far as the two (hanging out and a date) go, my expectations are not any different than your date...maybe that is my problem...and why I am a frequent flyer to the dreaded FRIEND ZONE...
In my experience you should never take a girl out on a formal date for the "first date". Twice in a row the girl got a free meal and drinks and then immediately afterwards spilled the "I'm kinda already seeing someone" or the "You're nice, but I'd rather just be friends." Not saying ALL women use men for free stuff, but wait until the 2nd or 3rd date for monetary chivalry.
I don't consider myself paranoid, but if I didn't know the guy, and he asked me to come to his house and watch a movie for our "first date", I would decline. Public place first, and then if he's cool, we can go watch a movie.
