really mad about this Pitchfork review for the new EP by Snow Strippers, which initially describes the band's sound as "lurid, cheap electro-pop", which is accurate, towards the end lists several reference points that I think are also accurate (Crystal Castles, Salem), and then in the middle proceeds to describe their previous release April Mixtape 3 as "like a Dance Dance Revolution soundtrack for moonwalking cyborgs". No. It does not fucking sound like that at all. I have written about this elsewhere on here in the past, but the music of Dance Dance Revolution does not sound anything like Crystal Castles at all. The only thing the band Snow Strippers and the music of DDR have in common is that they're both electronic and often have faster BPMs than, say, most current house or techno music. But contemporary DDR songs, like, say, recent interesting example "Sisyphus" often have wildly intricate synth melodies, weird rhythmic and tempo shifts, and deeply bizarre vocal samples, none of which are elements on this random ass EDM EP.
And, look, I can forgive an inaccurate reference point, but also a couple of years ago another Pitchfork writer described Lil Uzi Vert's "That Way" by saying "The only reasonable response to hearing “That Way,” where Lil Uzi Vert interpolates the Backstreet Boys’ hook to “I Want It That Way” into a hypnotic chant, is to conclude that the Philly rapper makes the best Dance Dance Revolution music." No! Lil Uzi Vert sounds nothing like that! What are you talking about!! Pitchfork give me editorial oversight of any of your writers talking about Dance Dance Revolution!!! They need to be stopped!!!! Let me in! Let me in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
shuck , you and 3post1jack1 should create a review blog. I'm waiting.
i'm ready, but fair warning to shuck, ever since i took 2CB during a STS9 show in the early 00s all new music sounds just like Dance Dance Revolution to me.

Fell into a YouTube rabbit hole of 80's Prince concert performances. If I could go back in time and be on the rail for one artist at one concert, it might just be 1984's Prince.

I apologize to the world and rock music fans everywhere for not liking Joe Bonamassa. The guy is a guitar legend, and he sings very well despite not being gifted with a powerful voice. I feel like I should love his bluesy, high-energy rock n roll, but I just don't. I've watched him every time PBS has had a full-ish concert on (watching Red Rocks 2022 right now), and I just don't dig it. The couple albums I picked up did nothing for my soul. I'm sorry.
I started keeping track of what albums I listened to this year in a Google spreadsheet which has so far been easier than my previous current way of just writing in a notepad document. I tried to do some data visualization but really only got two graphs, one on genre (which was interesting), and one on what country the album came from, which gave me this hilariously lopsided graph:
Anyone have any idea how to fucking reverse the latest iPhone update typing system. I don’t mind predictive but it’s too far that and if you try to edit anything it’s harder to click on the space between words. This doubly sucks because this version seems to have completely overwritten what it knew about my typing for the last several years. Texts, forums, emails anything. Fucking assholes pissing me off.

Go to settings. Then keyboard. Go to predictive. Turn it off.
I’m at a party where they keep playing Mau P songs and every time it comes up I just think “dead mow p”. Also I think of that fucking picture of deadmau5 in a helicopter. not sure which is worse.

Standing in line to get some last minute things before our trip this week, Mrs. GL looks at me, licks her thumb (which is a whole different vent) and proceeds to vigorously rub my upper lip.
I had just had some coffee and my grey is now white and it stains my mustache.
She then very loudly tells me that I have to clean my “dirty sanchez” in front of God and everyone. My face turns beet red as I saw people staring at me.
After we’re done and walking to the car. I ask her. “Do you even know what a Dirty Sánchez is?”. I get a “Nope. I’ve probably heard it a few times and thought it applied.” and she just kept walking to the car. When I explained what it was, she laughed so hard she had to pull over.

Did they say why they wanted you to delete them? I ask this as a fellow email hoarder lol.

they just think i'm silly. another manager showed me how fast the search is in our archiver and convinced me. also supposedly outlook will load faster and run more smoothly. we'll see.

it won't matter once new outlook comes out since it no longer downloads your messages locally. It's basically outlook web access in a shiny new desktop application. So deleting your messages might help a little until then I guess, but the performance issues are usually only when initially downloading your emails.
I never delete emails. Mine get deleted automatically after 2 years and that's good enough for me. My Gmail is another story though lol
