Wait! What is Roll Call? If this happens I need to be present on that boat.
Roll Call is the MMJ fan club.
This is from a email a few weeks back:
"**IMPORTANT - We will be announcing some great VIP upgrades for ticket holders which will be made available to Roll Call members before anyone else. Keep an eye on your inbox as we will be sending this information to you once the packages are finalized. You will not be disappointed!"
The MMJ fan club. I purchased all my tickets thru Roll Call for last summer's tour, and I was within fifteen feet of the stage at each and every show. It's been worth every penny.

Yea seems like everyone has mentioned the venues in town. I expect Headliners and Expo to be the best bets seeing as how they regularly have shows that go late into the night and are frequented by a "younger" crowd (I assume the EDM acts play night slots and are mostly younger people).
As whoreshack mentioned, if anyone has any questions about places to eat or anything shoot me a message! Glad to share my info, there are some great places in town.
Ben Sollee puts on a great show. I've seen him a few times, most recently he played at Bellarmine here in the Ville. It was probably the best I've seen him. I agree with the MMJ guest too, he came out and played with them at 'Roo last year.
What are the chances of Pres. Hall Jazz? I unfortunately had to miss them at Roo and would love to see them. I'm hoping for a good jazz act, All Good got Branford Marsalis and as a sax player that's about the best I can ask for at a festival. Karl Denson would be really cool too...
I'd say Pres Hall, M Ward & Bright Eyes are all locks. Hoping for The National & Son Volt.
Please[/i] don't say Bright Eyes is a lock unless you mean it. I've been wanting to see him since I first discovered him about 6 years ago. If he headlines that's gonna be awesome.
EDIT: The National would be cool too, haven't seen them since Roo 2010

Should we start e-mailing artists? Kidding. I'm lazy. And it's only a week.
Fave restaurants Banshee? Mine are Jack Fry's & Holy Grale. Love pub crawlin' on Bardstown Rd.
Vicenzo's is great (very pricy though) and Cafe 360 is good too. But my favorite has to be Oishii Sushi. It's hard to find good sushi in KY but they have the best I've had yet. Basically if you stroll down Bardstown Rd and visit any restaurant, bar, or shop you'll be happy. I've never had a bad experience anywhere there! The bars are the best in town, much much better than 4th St.

Holy Grale is great. Have you been to Sergio's? It is on the corner of Frankfort and Story Ave and has about 1300 different beers. Very cool place and the owner is a super nice guy.
My personal favorite restaurant is Le Gallo Rosso on Bardstown Road. Great Italian food and very reasonably priced for the portions they give you. I am going to 610 Magnolia this Friday for the first time and looking forward to trying some of Edward Lee's food. Met him a few years back through a friend and followed him on Top Chef but unfortunately never made it to his restaurant until now.

Report back how your meal there is! I've wanted to eat there for quite some time after seeing him win on Iron Chef. I've heard mixed things about the restaurant though.
This morning in an interview on Sirrus, Delta Spirit mentioned they are playing MMJ's festival this summer. But they didn't name the festival or give a location.

Funny, someone hinted DS to me already. Put em on the list.
MMJ, Galactic, Deer Tick, Delta Spirit, Ben Sollee
I can't believe this festival. I paid $100 for tickets and got an awesome hotel for $100 a night...It's going to be the one to see this summer, I think.
Seriously, everytime I think about this fest I'm amazed by it's bargain. I would have no problem paying 100 for a full MMJ set plus deer tick, delta spirit, and galactic. Also I know MMJ were enjoying the hell out of Dawes at Mountain Jam last year which gives us the potential of the Middle Brother trifecta.
Welcome aboard ewind. It's always nice to have new quality posters around here and for those that aren't on the MMJ forum ewind is a quality poster.
