Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I reckon Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Nerves Junior are the only locks, with New Multitudes being very, very, very likely. Anything else is fair game! I'm already impatiently waiting for next week, but at least there's light at the end of the tunnel.
Next week! That's awesome. Super excited for Forecastle. I've been to Halfway to Forecastle once (winter of 2010/2011 I think), but I've never been to the big fest.
What should I expect as far as crowds? Has it been big in the past? Is it a lot of drunk people or a lot of people spun on other things? What about the night shows? I know we have to buy tickets for those separate but do they sell out quickly or what? Do they have multiple stages or just one stage?
I live in the 'Ville so I'll be lucky enough to get to sleep in my own bed every night, and if any inforoosters want to have some drinks or something beforehand that would be awesome!
I've never been so I probably am not the one for those questions but I'll do my best.
I think they said they want about 35,000 people. They have multiple stages. The night shows have separate tickets and the time it takes for those to sell out depends on what it is. If the rumor of the MMJ + Pres Hall River Boat show is correct that will sell out in a matter of seconds.
We haven't planned anything yet but I'm thinking we will do a brunch one of the mornings.

Damn Bansheebeat, we coulda had Camp Infocastle in yer backyard. I'll take you up on that drink though. Probably hit you up for some bar/restaurant recommendations too, as we get closer to the fest.
The crowd is cool. 'Ville-ians know how to handle their partying. Not overly crazy or crowded, but guessing a bit more-so this time round. It is an urban fest so please remember to play it cool with the corn and party favors. I watched too many people have their fun come to a harsh, abrupt end by plainclothes. You can still have fun. Just be smart about it.
There's four stages, I believe. One mostly EDM acts. Similar schedule conflicts as Roo. Late night sets were on bigass boats in years past. Pretty lights & similar acts played for like $20, which isn't bad for a night's cruise. Sold out, day of, I believe. Hoping they spread the late-nite sets around the city to Headliners, ect, and offer more diversity. Problem is, I can't think of any cool venues close to downtown, without heading out to Bardstown Rd. Can you??

Yeah, you're right! That's like the coolest theater I ever been in. Crrazy baroque decor. Weird faces all over the walls & ceiling. Let's hope MMJ plays there.
The palace is a great venue, but I can't see them allowing shows very late there. Most theater type places have stricter curfews. I would love to be wrong because it would only be 15 minute walk from the riverfront. Along with the palace they have a few other theaters in the downtown area (Brown Theater is one, I cant think of the name of the other).
Another cool venue is Expo Five. Its an old airplane hanger turned into music club, but you would have to drive or take a cab there. Its out by all the strip clubs and flea markets southwest of downtown.
There is also Iriquois Ampitheater that is really nice, but I dont think they would have late nights there either and it isnt very close to downtown.
I would guess that the latenights would take place at headliners which isnt too far from downtown, but you have to take a cab most likely and the boats.
Whats everyone's guess for headliners, Im guessing Wilco and Jack White to go with MMJ.
Edit: There is also an old Bball arena that I saw a metal show at (I think Megadeth) years ago that was close to downtown. I cant remember the name, but it was famous for Ali having fought there at some point in his career.
JW and Wilco are my dream headliners, while Neil Young on Sunday would be my "I'm in heaven, is this real?" headliner.
Im just assuming that Neil and CH are too big for the fest in order to not get my hopes up. NY&CH, MMJ, and Wilco or Jack White would be a dream headliner situation.

I believe they late-night sets are going to be held on the Belle of Louisville (steamboat) and in a place called the Ice House. This is on Main St. (few blocks walk from Waterfront) and has recently been renovated. Have no idea what it looks like but there was a Craig Morgan concert there a week or so ago that is the only thing I know of for sure so far.
The old basketball arena you are talking about is Louisville Gardens which is on Broadway and 4th which is a pretty good hike from Waterfront (10 blocks maybe).

So, with FLips playing AllGood the next weekend, they seem likely, right?
Jack White has a gig in London a couple weeks before that. I'm wondering if he'll stay across the pond and do the festival circuit there. This seems like the best explanation for why he isn't playing Roo.
A few posts back, someone pointed out that Wilco has some gigs in Louisville coming up, which makes them less likely.
I'm thinking one of the Bunbury headliners seem likely to join MMJ and Flaming Lips. Maybe DCFC?
MMJ are obviously big fans Erykah Badu. She has a couple of spring gigs coming up, but she's free that weekend.

The Lips are over at a European festival the same weekend as Forecastle, so I think it's safe to rule them out.
And it turns out Wilco doesn't have any Louisville gigs lined up.
In conclusion, we really don't have a clue as to who the other headliners are going to be.
Thanks for the info! Looks like they're playing that fest in Belgium and then coming over for AllGood a few days and then going back to Germany a week later. Yikes!

They made it sound like the capacity of the park is huge and that they did not expect it to sell-out. Anything is possible but it seems like they can accommodate for way more people than they expect to buy tickets.

I've only been 1 time - in 2010 which was the last year they had it. From what I've heard, it was amazing compared to years past just because it allowed more room for everyone in attendance. It was a pretty small fest but spread out so it seemed bigger. Not too long of a walk to anything though. The night shows are held on the riverboat...I think it holds 1000 so yes - they will sell out. I hope they have late nights at other venues as well. The boat is awesome but a lot of ppl got shut out due to the small capacity.
