Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Sorry to de-rail a bit. I tried searching before posting but because inforoo requires searches to be more than 4 characters long and removes everything shorter, it's hard to search for "VIP".
So. Has anyone done VIP at Forecastle before? The one review I found online was from 2010 and it was a bad review. I know that now AC Ent has it. So I wonder if it will be better, or if it was already okay and the bad review was just that one person's opinion. Any feedback is appreciated.
I am in the exact same boat as you. I was *this* close to buying Forecastle VIP tickets for this year, but couldn't find any description of what exactly was offered. Compared to other fest's VIP packages, they seemed like a decent price, but I wanted to know more before plunking down all that cash.
So I e-mailed Forecastle, and talked back and forth with various reps from Forecastle over the last couple of weeks, trying to get more info. But they couldn't really guarantee me what would be offered. Apparently there is an elevated VIP viewing area from which you can see both stages. Seems like a cool idea, and a nice place to chill, but they couldn't say how close or how far this area would be from the stage. Which got me a little worried. They also said that while there is an air-conditioned lounge, there are no air-conditioned bathrooms. Just private porta-potties, presumably with smaller lines. No drink discounts either, but they do offer "special" drinks you can't get anywhere else in the park.
I'm sure VIP at Forecastle would be sweet, but with their vague descriptions of the VIP amenities, I just couldn't convince myself that it was worth it, especially given how cheap general admission passes are. I figure if I'm in dire need of air-conditioning, I can always go back to the Galt and chill there for a while.
But if anyone does have any more information, I'd be happy to hear it. Just because I bought GA passes doesn't mean I've completely talked myself out of VIP! I'm also excited to hear about the oft-mentioned VIP perks that will be offered to members of Roll Call!
I didn't go VIP in 2010, but this is what I noticed: - fenced off viewing area to the left with maybe about 10 rows of viewing space - comfy couches on the hill where you could see shows on the main stage - lounge and bar for VIP only
That's about it. I didn't notice any other special viewing areas at the other stages. With what I saw last time and the fact that we're staying at The Galt House which means I can go chill at the hotel if needed, I think VIP is a waste of money. That being said, I'm sure they'll step it up this year. Just my 2 cents...

I can't wait for this line up. Not that I'm not already sold on the fest... Really still hoping for Bright Eyes (or Conor of some sort) and some good EDM.
How much do tickets usually cost to the late shows? I was expecting maybe like $20 bucks or so?
I think I remember paying $30 per ticket but I could be wrong. If you miss out on one night and they sell out, you can always hope for ppl selling them before the show. We managed to grab tix that way to EOTO in 2010.

They aren't having the fenced off area right in front of the stage this year. I asked on their facebook page. I did the VIP thing in 2010 and that woud have been the only way I would have purchased it again. Nothing beats being pretty much front row.
Do they do the tickets online or what? How early do they go on sale?
Late night tix were sold on the website. I think they'll probably be for sale shortly after the lineup is announced. I'm hoping that after the lineup is announced, they'll let us know who the late night acts are, where they'll be performing, and when those tix go on sale. I remember them being sold at a later date after the lineup was announced.
Hell with a comfortable bed, personal bathroom and shower, free breakfast, and free airport shuttle the Marriot Courtyard is closer to Bonnaroo's all access than VIP

Man... Band of Horses, Dr Dog, M Ward, Bright Eyes, Pres Hall Jazz Band, Calexico, Jay Farrar, Erykah Badu.... my mind's running wild with possibilities. What other potential acts could be considered Friends of MMJ?

Man I really hope it's something along the lines of MMJ - Wilco - Jack White like everyone's predicting. I've been trying to talk my Dad into going and that would get him to go for sure. Cant wait till Tuesday, it's like Roo lineup day v2!!!
Really hopin' this lineup actually drops on Tuesday. But, worst case scenario, waiting till Friday won't be the end of the world if the lineup is as good as I think it's going to be!

Feel like it's even better than Roo lineup day... we've already got the best fuckin' band in the world confirmed!
It's funny a fairly significant number of people on facebook either got Radiohead or Daft Punk out of that clue. Some people are completely over estimating the size of the festival.

I wouldn't think it would be Radiohead, either. Just to clear up any doubts that it might be, they'll be in Europe at that time. Same with M83. Is there any chance in hell we could get Modest Mouse?
