Also, if your able to get a spot at a meter that isn't too far away, they are free on Saturday and Sunday.
This is good to know. They've started charging for meters on Saturday here in Nashville. Parking at the Galt is $12/day, so I should probably just bite the bullet and do that. On the other hand, I'm not above saving $12 if there are open meters within a block or two of the hotel.
Then again, the city will probably already be flooded with cars by the 3pm check-in, so that seems unlikely.
What is this Troll Pub, of which you speak? Sounds like a great place for an Inforoo party. Do they have Wi-Fi??
The Troll Pub is located under the 2nd street bridge, there's a large ugly troll outside of it, it's an underground pub with outdoor seating available, a bunch of little hidden drinking cubbies and all kinds of paintings from local artists, excellent beer selection as well. I always end up there after U of L games, there or Doc Crows which is a block south of it, a large southern style bourbon bar.
According to Yelp, Troll Pub does offer free wifi.

After seeing Jacket's setlist the past two nights on this wild "spontaneously curated" tour they're doing, I'm strongly considering finding a way to go to this. It's very tempting since I have enough points on AC FanCorps to get a free ticket. I just have to figure out a way to afford losing those 3-4 days of work and paying for hotel/travel.

Dave - tix are $25 for the double-billed show (them plus Break Science, whoeverTF that is), so I'll pass.
So, this will be my first year at forecastle, I was selected to volunteer so I'll be there all three days. I have a question or two though. How are the searches conducted in comparison with bonnaroo? How is the party favor scene there? Should I be looking to bring my own or would I be able to find them there? What's the attitude like for smoking there? At bonnaroo nobody looked twice, which was really nice and comforting.

Thanks for the quick reply! Ah, that's a bit of a bummer. Smoking isn't a big deal to me, I can live without it. I do plan on bringing my own for the other stuff, it's just a matter of how hard should I hide it. Would in the case of my ear plugs be good enough or would they open that up? Worst comes to worse, I could always crotch them/shoe them.
