I also thought Wilco was in there with a 2.5 hour slot, but it looks like the festival closes at 11 on Sunday, making Wilco's set only an hour and a half. But hey, I'll take it! I'm hoping for a sweet high-energy set to close out the festival.

Well damn. I assumed midnight. Ohhh, well. It's not the end of the world.
With the exception of Stax being removed (RIP Donald Duck Dunn), missing PHJB (who I've already seen), and missing a few minutes of Dr. Dog and Andrew Bird, I'm pretty happy with the schedule. I'm a little annoyed they aren't starting earlier on Saturday, but I'll have a pretty stacked schedule from JTE (presumably at 4:15pm) through MMJ. That also means less time out in the sun and more time pre-partying at the Galt!

I love the schedule. I also like that it starts so late in the day.
Does anyone know more about the sound check thing with MMJ? I got it as a birthday gift. If the sound check happens early in the day, do you think they will let us out and back in? I only have a day pass, so I doubt that they will allow ins and outs with that. If they let us leave, I need some suggestions for things to do in Louisville during the morning/early afternoon. Any recommendations for breakfast/lunch?

Kinda bummed about the amount of time allowed per day...I'm so used to music going from 12:00 p.m. till 6 a.m.!!
But I'm thinking that after a long night out Friday and Saturday, I'll be happy the music doesn't start until later in the afternoon the next day. That means more sleep and cooler temps! Can't really complain with that!
I wasn't really thrilled about that either, but I'll have the chance to see Washed Out at Lolla and CounterPoint.
My only real complaint is that GirlTalk is going up against MMJ. They can't really be any earlier than they are now though. He's playing Music Midtown, but I'll likely not see him there either since his set is only an hour and at 8pm. I'll likely stay at the stage Pearl Jam is at following F+TM.
Does anyone know if they've released a park map yet? I'd like to know how close the stages are to one another. I'm assuming Starboard and Port are adjacent due to the scheduling, but there's overlap with all the other stages, which suggests they're all separate.

From Facebook: THE FORECASTLE FESTIVAL The map will be coming soon and stages will be close enough to trot between as needed!

Yeah, I'd love an entire Run Thru, as opposed to what's become a tease. I'm also pretty pumped about the schedule, having filled mine out today. There's honestly a heck of a lot to see each day!
My only real conflict is Deer Tick vs. Charles Bradley, probably split the two.
My only must sees (besides those two) are MMJ, Head and the Heart, and Clutch. I probably will swing my way to Features, some Wilco, and Beats Antique.
So... any recommendations? Or shall I just follow Infocastle peeps all weekend?

Lots of good stuff each day is right. And for $40 a day with MMJ & Wilco, unbelievable. I can't help but wish they'd started the bands at 1pm, spread out the sets a bit and alleviated a few of the direct conflicts.

Exactly! Music started at 12 or 12:30 last year they had it...why start at 3 or later each day??? Since music has to stop so early (for a festival) why start so late? Not really sure what they were thinking.
I had a really strong feeling that flying lotus and bassnectar would overlap. I wonder how split the crowd will be between these two acts. I hope EVERYONE is at bassnectar, a privite party with flying lotus would be the best festival experience for me.lol. With as many acts as i wanted to see i knew conflicts were going to be bad. I am so excited to see so much music and run around. i like the short packed days. I DON'T WANT TO GO FOREVER, I JUST WANT TO GO HARD!!!!!! lol.
EDIT: people asking for recommendations, i suggest dr. dog. besides MMJ and wilco, they have the most people like of forecastle linueup page. there is a reason. and i still dont understand why they are so low on these lineup in particular.

Maybe they were thinking about how punishing the mid-July heat in Louisville can be.
I'd probably take my own car if it were me. There's tons of parking in parking garages near the waterfront/arena. Also, if your able to get a spot at a meter that isn't too far away, they are free on Saturday and Sunday. It would definitely be cheaper than a cab.
I figured the meter spots would be the best bet, but I have a hard enough time finding a spot at one on a normal weekend, so I wasn't sure if it was feasible or not.
Also, don't forget you can park next to the Yum! Center. There's that parking garage underneath the 2nd st. bridge on Witherspoon, that's where I'm going to aim for and then just walk to the Fest from there.
