HAHA I was just considering renting a car, driving there from Texas and hoping/knowing some Inforooster would let me crash somewhere....

I-65 construction facts: 65 north will be closed all weekend, all lanes (north only), from 264 to downtown! Plan accordingly. The easiest and least confusing option would be to do a circle around the city using the xpressways. I'd get off 65 at I-265 (east or north - the farthest right ramp), the gene Snyder. Take that to 264, going east on 264 this will take you all the way into downtown, you'll be on your own from there. I-64 & 71 are both open with no construction spots that I know of. Sorry if any or all of this has been said, I just wanted to give a heads up to the board.¦}
Note: This does not start until 7 p.m. Friday. If you get downtown before then , it's not an issue. Otherwise, there is no need to take the Snyder all the way around. Use I-264 (east or west) to circle around and get off downtown. If you take I-264E to I-64W you can get off at 3rd St/ River Road right at the park -- unless that ramp is closed.
Your alternate is to take an exit off I-264 (3rd Street if WB, Poplar Level if EB) and take that north into downtown.
Those coming from the north shouldn't have too much of a headache with the I-65 bridge if you're not rolling through at rush hour.
Cheers and safe travels. I hope Louisville treats each of you well.
We're here! Thanks to whoever posted the detour directions from 65N. We got here with no troubles at all! Still waiting on our room to be ready at the Galt. Only 3 hours till gates open!!
For those of us living vicariously through our friends at Forecastle this weekend, here is the stream schedule on iclips.net (asterisks are for those shows that are time delayed):
Friday July 13th 6:00 - Rebelution 7:30 - Atmosphere 9:00 - Abigail Washburn* 10:00 - The Head and the Heart* 11:30 - Lucero*
Saturday July 14th 3:00 - Everest 6:00 - Dr. Dog 7:30 - Andrew Bird 9:30 - My Morning Jacket
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
For those who missed it, I think higgybear had a good alternative to driving the extra 9 miles around the city on I264>64. This one only adds 2 miles (albeit "neighborhood" miles).
ALSO for anyone arriving after Friday I-65N will be CLOSED from 7pm Friday evening until Monday morning from I-264 to the bridge so you will be forced to detour.
My recommendation - If driving on I-65N take the exit towards the Watterson Expressway (I-264) and you want to go EAST. This should keep you away from the majority of the traffic. Once on I-264E take you second exit (Newburg Road) and turn left at the light at the end of the exit. Newburg Rd goes straight and turns into Baxter Ave and is less crowded and has less lights than Bardstown Road. Baxter Ave will turn into Jefferson St (one way into downtown) so you can continue straight and turn RIGHT on 2nd Street. Go up two blocks and turn LEFT on Main St. and the Galt House is on your RIGHT.
There are other ways but if you are looking for the fastest I believe that is the way to go having lived here all my life. If you are not time crunched you can get off I-264 at the Bardstown Road exit (one exit after Newburg Rd). This will provide a nice trip down a street that really makes Louisville, Louisville. It is very eccentric and houses lots of local stores, shops, and restaurants.

So I used my Roll Call membership card to go into the VIP entrance and skip the long GA line to get in yesterday afternoon. As I walked up to the line where they actually took your tickets the girl said VIP day and weekend passes only so I started to walk back to the GA line. I decided to ask her if Roll Call was able to go through there as well and she said yes so I walked over gave my GA tickets to a different person who then gave my girlfriend and me VIP weekend wristbands! At first I thought just the Roll Call wristbands were a different color so we could use the VIP line but we tested it out and walked straight into the VIP area without any problems.
All the shows I saw were fantastic. I was a little worried about the sound clash between stages but once you got close enough to any given stage you couldn't hear anything from the other stages. The best stage in my mind is the Red Bull Stage under the highway.
Also, loved that they had the $2 garlic grilled cheeses from Bonnaroo. My girlfriend loves the Pesto Quesadilla there so that pretty much made her night.
Revised schedule for today and tomorrow's broadcast. They added Walk the Moon, Galactic, Neko Case and some others. I'll be definitely listening tonight from 9:00 on. I hope they're having a blast.
Saturday July 14th 3:00 - Everest 6:00 - Dr. Dog 7:30 - Andrew Bird 9:00 - Justin Townes Earl* 9:30 - My Morning Jacket 12:00 - Galactic*
Sunday July 15th 3:30 - Walk the Moon 4:45 - Cloud Nothings 6:15 - Deer Tick 7:45 - Neko Case 9:00 - Real Estate* 9:30 - Wilco
Had a blast yesterday! Definite highlights were The Head and the Heart, Tanlines, Sleigh Bells (wow!!), and Bassnectar of course! Met some awesome ppl and have the best room at the Galt - communal balcony (aka party balcony!) right to the pool! Hope everyone is having a good time as well!
Oh and about the sound between stages - Trixie Whitley had to completely stop in the middle of a song and go into another one because she couldn't her herself due to other stages and that stupid PS3 truck. Felt really bad for her
Atlas Sound had to do the same thing because of the bleed from the main stage. It sucks that you can't hear the band you're at unless you're standing really close and directly in front of the stage. But yesterday was still a blast! Atlas Sound, Dean Wareham, Beach House, Sleigh Bells, FlyLo, and Basnectar were all awesome.
My schedule for today will be: Pres Hall > Dr. Dog/Real Estate > Andrew Bird/Washed Out > MMJ.
Oh yeah and the garlic grilled cheese was great.

HOLY SHIT!! They canceled the MMJ soundcheck due to bad weather and had us all huddled under the overpass. Then as soon as the skies cleared MMJ walked up and played a surprise acoustic set for all of us. WOW! Snapped some pics
Just now posting in this thread but that acoustic performance was worth the wait! Hearing Jims voice in that kind of setting and the crowd singing to wonderful was quacking amazing.
