Laying in the field now listening. Someone launched a sky lantern during Rocket Man and it literally bounced off the top of the stage and barely made it over. The entire crowd gasped then cheared when it went over. I am so sick of these things, its only a matter of time before they seriously fuck up a show.

I've only seen MMJ three times, but it was definitely the best I've seen. They played most of the songs I love, plus a few great covers. The bananas bit was hilarious too.
I actually enjoyed the entire day at the festival, more than I thought I would. The rain delay actually helped me see more of the shows I wanted to see too. Real Estate was great. My second Futurebirds show, after Roo last year, and they were great as well. Washed Out under the freeway on Red Bull stage was the second favorite show of the day!
Its a much easier festival than Roo, clearly, and I liked being able to walk up to any show at pretty much anytime and get very close to the stage. Was a good change of pace from Roo.

Wow. That was awesome. Sad I only did one day, I should've done the whole weekend.
It seemed like a pretty well run festival, even though there was a couple things that needed to be worked out. However, you can count on me going back next year as long as the line up is about as good as this year.

I'm still processing yesterday's happenings. What I've decided so far is that I am seriously lucky... lucky to have such an amazing boyfriend who bought us tickets to the soundcheck and the festival... lucky to be part of such an great group of friends... and lucky to have witnessed such special MMJ moments with my amazing boyfriend and great group of friends.
I'll remember yesterday for the rest of my life. Thank you to everyone who was there for being an important part of making it great.

Had a great time! Thanks to Jade and Al for tickets, Brock and Sarah for places to rest our heads, all of the people we met there and were able to hang out with. Was a great festival and I'm certainly down for next year!
Sunday totally exceeded my expectations. Cloud Nothings, Charles Bradley, Moon Taxi, and Wilco were all EXCELLENT. I got to meet the guys from Cloud Nothings later in the day too! Anybody else hug Charles Bradley?
Ha, I came in to post the youtube and was beat to it. I guess they threw a few too many bananas, because on the setlist it looks like Dr. Dog was supposed to join the band for Rock the Casbah. From the acoustic set, the headlining show, and joining the PJHB on the Belle, Seeing My Morning Jacket Saturday at Forecastle was so much fun! I even ran into a lot of you fine folk here on the forum. It has been so cool discovering this band at Bonnaroo and watching them explode over the years. If not next year, I believe they should close out Sunday night at Bonnaroo the year after next.
