I've been to LV at least two dozen times in the last six or seven years for mostly smaller fests. The good news, as compared to Marvin's Mountaintop, is the traffic on the way in shouldn't be horrendous. LV is located directly off Interstate 70, so there's no smallish back roads to deal with. The bad news is the place isn't anywhere near as big as Marvin's Mountaintop, from what I've seen - and I saw the Grateful Dead there in 1993. I don't know how they are going to arrange the camping, unless the open up nearby land. It's also a nice setting, but nowhere near as nice as Marvin's Mountaintop.

this will be adding a few hours to my trip. still nowhere near the roo dive but after meeting all you amazing infogooders last year i cant imagine missing it...
These are the same dates as Vibes next year. I have older friends that went to all the Grateful Dead shows here.........Buckeye Lake was home to "the ultimate shakedown" as it's been put. This venue/city is very open to the types of weirdos that will come to this festival, and it's right off the interstate so it won't be as much of a bitch as Marvin's Mountaintop. No way in hell am I missing this, this fest is gonna be a mega rager for the history books. I'm gonna go ahead and call Furthur and Allman's for the headliners.

I'm definitely a lot more open to this change versus the change to VA. One, obviously because it's closer (7.25 hrs) than even the mountain top is; and two, this location is MUCH more accepting of these types of events. When I was reading about how they had to get a continuous music rule changed in order for the fest to be allowed at the VA site it already sounded like that community didn't want this event. And that made it sound like it could lead to the same type of tumultuous relation AG had with Masontown.
I bet it's going to be a lot hotter in OH in July than it was on the mountaintop.
Well that makes things very different! I volunteer to go to the new venue and check it out next year!!! This is actually a shorter drive to AG than Marvin's Mtn...

They hold Hookahville at LV twice a year, and security usually is a private provider/local sheriff's deputies split. It used to be a free for all several years back, but things toned down after a few incidents. Yonder's tour bus did get pulled over on the way into Hookahville one year. I was there and saw the thing go down; we heard about it and walked up to the field overlooking the back road and watched. With the numbers AG draws, they aren't going to be able to do that so much because of the impact it would have on traffic on Interstate 70.
This is a lot closer to me. But man I'm going to miss the mountaintop. Nothing can replace listening to some good jams while watching the sunset over the Appalachians.

I'm honestly not sure if there's a centralized location, like here, where people talk about lineup rumors, etc. I will say I've heard people talking about the Allman Brothers being a possibility, and I live here in central Ohio. That would make sense. I will post on here if I hear anything else.
This is my old backyard! Can't wait for AG this year, though I'm really going to miss the view/weather at Marvin's Mtn. I will likely have a large group of family and friends going this year.
Columbus in July will be hot and humid between 8am-8pm likely...

Yeah, I'm two hours and 15 minutes away max. My RV dealer is going to cut me a deal if I get another one this year for AG. I've rented from her the last 4 yrs. All Good was going to be our call before the move, but the Roo bug is hitting again. As long as there's a good lineup, I think we're doing both fests.

An RV will be nice for AG because, as Huzzah said, it's going to be hot as Hades unless we get really, really lucky and there's some kind of cooling trend that week. There also might not be a lot of shaded camping opportunities, but there wasn't at Marvin's anyway.

Legend Valley, for recent Hookahvilles, has offered a Sunday-only option. This will be a Walther Production, however, and I don't think they've done that in the past.

I'm pretty sure this is a go, how can I say no to a fest just over 2 hours away. Uncle Tupelo is probably not making the trip down to Bonnaroo this year but he could chug down to AG.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I super miss Columbus. So a fest right there is a given. Every year, I say I'm gonna go to All Good, and I still haven't. this year, I'm determined to make it happen.
