I wish. I'm kind of iffy on seeing Pixies without Kim though.
I'm going to Shaky Knees and can't decide if I want to see the Pixies without Kim or not. I saw them when they did the Doolittle tour a few years ago when she was still with them and it was amazing.
Ahh the Shaky Knees lineup is killer! You'll have a blast. I would just stand in for a few songs.
ゴジラ and modestrodent - I know, I know. The voice is the most unique instrument, and it's never exactly the same when you change the lineup almost 30 years in. But in my humble opinion, I much preferred the Pixies 2014 show to the one I saw in 2011. Kim really seemed to not go through the motions so much as stumble through them.
If we're talking classic era Kim, then there's no competition - but in concert, she was no longer bringing much to the table. Paz plays the songs really well. There's an energy to them that was lacking when I first saw them. Don't write the show off yet.

You're right. My judgement is mostly going off others input and videos i've discovered on the internet. Either way i'd stand in for a few shows just because i'm a huge Pixies fan to begin with. Still am a bit sad that Kim is no longer apart of the band though, but Paz seems cool.

Thanks for the input! I've been skeptical about the new lineup since they announced it. I'll most definitely be checking out the show, though.

You can grab some chairs when you get down there and just leave them (thats what I had to do when I flew to Coachella) or depending on where you're camping, someone can bring some extra chairs for you.

Welcome to the boards
This struck a memory about chairs. Several years ago I brought a blue camp chair to Roo. When I got home my wife said, "Umm, this isn't our chair." I took a good look and sure enough, it wasn't. Someone, somewhere, has my chair and I have his. I guess we're pretty much chair buddies for life.
Anyways, just to stay on topic, Martyroo, I'm going to PM you my packing list, it may help you put together your packing list.

What's up everybody? Glad to be on inforoo, which actually means I'm going to bonnaroo this year! Haven't been since '07. Wife and I decided to take the plunge. We have two kids (3.5 and 1.5) and although we'll miss them, we needed some Farm in our life. Can't wait to be back. Doing VIP and driving in from St. Louis early Friday morning. See you all soon!
