HI BONNAROOVIANS!!!

Tany here. I am sooooooooo excited to FINALLY be getting back to the farm this year. This will be my 5th Bonnaroo (but my first going VIP, AND my first in 4 years) and my boyfriends FIRST MUSIC FESTIVAL EVER!! You guys have to help me show him the time of his life, okay? I've been pumping him up the last few days to get him excited (but of course he won't fully get it until he lives it, as we all know). Here's a bit of our story:

I was a festival circuit fiend for much of my twenties. Music has been saving my life since before I can remember, and live music has always been like a drug to me. So when one day, many years ago and only a few short weeks after my best friend had taken me to my very first music festival (Mountain Jam represent!!!), I opened up a magazine (remember those??) and read a story about this crazy festival in Tennessee called Bonnaroo. It was the biggest music festival in North America, they said. Amazing acts big and small, they said. Art EVERYWHERE, they said. A legitimately beautiful vibe and amazing people, they said. I HAVE to go to this thing, I said. And from then on, I was the make-it-happen girl. Talking all my festival-virgin friends into going and showing them the time of their lives year after year. Every year I set my sights on Bonnaroo, rallied the troops, planned the trip and made it happen. It was a truly beautiful time. I could get into all that I learned and experienced in those years, the moments that just arrested my soul and saved me and lifted me to incredible heights. But that's for another time...since it's enough to fill a book!

In early 2012, the floor dropped out from under me. My life took some crazy turns and I had to deal with some hard realities not the least of which was incredible loss on every level. I gave up everything, moved far away from my home, and started from scratch. Among the blows during this transition was the reality that I would have to quit the festival circuit for a while, including (most heartbreakingly) Bonnaroo. So I gifted my tickets to some doe-eyed first-timers and set off with a determination to rebuild my life. Always with me was the powerful hope and longing to one day get back to the farm.

Some time later, as I was slowly re-building my life, I found a boy who was also, in his own way, starting from scratch. We met and all those bells and whistles you always hear about started going off. It was a whirlwind romance that turned into something so much more. Music was what we had in common, and it was the jumping off point to our relationship. Our first Christmas together, we slept on the beach, not having a home to retreat to. 5 years later, we have built a real life for ourselves. Meanwhile, I discovered that this boy (Eric) had never been to a music festival! This set the wheels turning. This is the love of my life and he's never experienced this amazing thing that is so very close to my heart. So after 4 years of busting my ass in the face of insane odds, WE ARE FINALLY ABLE TO GET BACK TO BONNAROOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell i'm excited?? I'm writing a novel right now lol.

Anyway, I wanted to check in here and maybe make some friends to meet up with on the farm. I'm super determined to make this the best Bonnaroo experience EVER both for my triumphant return and to pop the boy's Roo cherry!! I'm really interested to meet anyone and everyone. Definitely VIPers but everyone else too! I know we'll meet sooooo many new friends once we get there, but I thought maybe I'd get a head start here. Bonnaroo I love you so much and my heart may explode in the ensuing months as I prepare to reunite with all you beautiful people. Eric and I are very laid back, open to the world, and in love with art and music and good vibes and all that tickles the soul. We both can't wait to meet new friends on the farm!! HIT ME UP BONNAROOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

I don't see the appeal but to each their own. Have fun on here. Hey all! My names Shannon and this will be my first time at Roo! I've always wanted to go, but didn't have the funds to. Luckily this year, a child-hood best friend who lives in ATL ( and who I also haven't seen in over 18 years!! ) bought me a ticket. I convinced my one of my best friends to buy a ticket so we''ll be making our way down to ATL (from CT - hellla long drive !! ) and from there go to Roo the next day. I'm beyond excited and just wanted to stay hi to everyone!!
