Dude, the "I didn't know how to play" excuse is weak. I didn't know some unwritten rules (like vote stacking, for instance), but I at least read over the rules so I knew what the inspector did, what the mafia did, etc. You could have also read through the previous game (which I did), so you had an idea of what you were getting into.
Did I know everything into the game? No. But I knew that the inspector is the only real shot the townspeople had at winning. If you out yourself in round 1, it's basically a 1-and-done, and you're left with 2 mafia and a group of townspeople who will just argue with each other blindly because there's no direction from the inspector. You're either a bad inspector or a pretty good liar. I haven't decided which, yet.
Like I said, I was never fully convinced either Ntell or Bonzai were mafia, but Ntell has given me less reason to think he's the inspector than bonzai has for believing she is mafia. Bonzai is a suspect based, literally, off of Ntell's accusation. That's it. Ntell is suspected for things he's done to himself. So it's Ntell's word vs. Ntell's word, basically. Rdk makes some valid points, but he's not the reason I kept my vote. Ntell says bonzai is mafia, but he's also said a lot of confusing statements along the way.
Also, no matter how noob you are at a game, admitting that you aren't adverse to lying in the game is a Roo Ferris Wheel-sized red flag for me.
I'm not trying to sway a vote, or anything of that nature. Maynard seems to think he has an idea of who he is voting for (or he will soon), so we'll know soon enough who was telling the truth. I just think "less is more" in a situation like this, and the more Ntell has gone off about being the inspector, the weaker his case has looked, at least to me.
Either way, I'm almost more interested to see who the mafia kill off than who gets voted out right now, because I feel that will be more telling than who maynard votes out. Bonzai/Ntell is a coin flip, basically no one has any real idea who is being honset. The assassination will be a clear message.
Although, if EAP and Jham provide convincing arguments, I may be swayed. But Ntell, I'm not getting swayed by the person whose honesty I'm questioning. Nothing personal, it's all in the game, homie.

Just so you know, to the best of my knowledge, this day doesn't end when I vote. Fawn has set a deadline of 9am tomorrow, so the voting can go on until then if discussion persists due to people potentially changing their minds.

Oh, ok. Wasn't sure if it was your vote that closed it (I thought I read that the final vote closes it in a runoff). Thanks for clarifying.

Like I said, that's to the best of my knowledge, I'm kind of holding off because I'm not 100% sure.
I am not sure if I should even respond. Beyond you, I have no real idea. There have been a few things that have made certain people a tad suspicious, but I am weary of speaking up against people whom I don't feel confident about when I am on the chopping block.
I drafted and saved my few suspicions, but I can't decide whether to post them right now.. so for now, I am not.
If (and hopefully for the townie’s sake, when) I make it until tomorrow, I will be more open to discussing opinions.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I don't think we learn much at all by keeping, ntell.
If he isn't mafia, I don't see him being whacked because the way he has played and the way things can be made to look allows for mafia and townie votes to deal with him next round.
If he is mafia, we have fallen for a game-losing plot. Mafia take out 4 townies in the first 2 rounds.
Keeping ntell just gives mafia way too many angles/situations to work.
rdk, the only way to know the truth for the townies is to keep me and see if i get whacked, to know if i am telling the truth. ffs you guys are about to keep a mafia member lol, come on townies.

loooool, why is it everytime i read one of your posts i cant help but laugh out loud. this game is funny when you are 100% positive the other person is lying. i hope to god i am not the inspector next game, this is too stressful.
maynardave you should go ahead and put in a vote, so that either I or bonzai have sufficient time to make our cases and not delay the death anymore.
That's why I'm not putting in my vote currently. I'm not sure if it would instantly end the round leaving you two no further time to plead your cases. Honestly though, I want to hear from the people who haven't been talking.
So anyone who calls out your moronic decision in the 1st round (granted you aren't mafia) is mafia?
Even if its a moronic decision, a real townie would never vote out their own inspector just because of that. If i survive, i CAN survive the mafia whack and get more guesses since if the mafia whack me it puts them in a tough spot.
This was already discussed. I didn't realize people did the "vote partners" early on. I just randomly picked out Scrog because in the "sign up" thread LD and (I think) Jhammet both said they were voting for him. I realize these were vote partner/joke votes, but at the time I thought people were already setting up to send someone off. Again, I wasn't up on the strategy aspect of the voting, just how the system worked.

"Or use it on someone else, and just tell EVERYONE I used it on you and was correct in my guess. Yea, that sounds like a better option. "
That is the first time you stated that the purpose of that post was "fucking with me". You also said lying to everyone not the mafia.
You avoided my question: If that was meant to fuck with me, why did you not want me or anyone else to see it so desperately that you purposely broke the rules?

Vote closing - the rules state when everyone votes or 36 hours. After 36 hours if you have not voted you forfeit the vote.
To be clear - I have stated that I will not be closing voting until 9 am tomorrow morning EST (because I will not be up at midnight tonight) - so that is the deadline.
Maynardave is null and may remain so until he gets his questions answered as long as he votes by 9 am.
WHile there is flexibility with this rule, there has been a lot of 'discussion' but minimal voting impact at this point. So IMO its in the game's best interest to enforce the 36 hour rule and wrap up day 1.
Everyone needs to be comfortable with their vote by 8:59 am EST tomorrow morning as voting will close at that time.

Ok this is becoming waaaaay too drawn out. I've thought and said alot about this first round. To those who are still on the fence about Ntellier being Mafia, consider this:
If Ntellier is Mafia, that means he's NOT the Inspector.
If Ntellier is Mafia, and gets voted off in Day 1, the real Inspector is still alive, and the Mafia would have a 12.5% chance of whacking the real Inspector in Night 1 (7 Townies, 1 Inspector would remain after Day 1)
If Ntellier is Mafia and is voted off in Day 1, there is then a 66.3% (2/3's) chance that the real Inspector did not receive Ntellier's name as Mafia, and still has the identity of their known Mafia, and only has a 12.5% (1/8) chance of dying in Night 1.
This is not the setup or situation the Mafia want after Day 1/ Night 1!!!!!!!!!!
They could potentially be down to one Mafia member by Day 3, if Ntellier is Mafia.
Now unless all 3 of our Mafia this game are first time players, there is at least one Mafia member that would see and know all of the above that I posted to be true.
Mafia want to win, an experienced Mafia player would not condone or give Ntellier the green light to make this much noise this early in the game. Remember, in this game the Mafia and the Inspector BOTH come out of the gate with an advantage in this game, the Townspeople do not.
Remember the Mafia want to kill the Inspector ASAP, because then they have a much LARGER advantage and chance of winning the game, because then the Inspetor can't guess Mafia anymore, and all the Mafia have to do the rest of the game is separate themselves, and lie, twist, and manipulate everything.
I will be the first to admit it was dumb for Ntellier to claim he is Inspector in Day 1, but he also admitted he didn't read the rules (another dumb mistake).
He received bonzai as his known Mafia, so I completely understand why bonzai would in turn defend herself.
bonzai was the only one in the hot seat, but rdk started to get all defensive and even goes to the extent of pointing fingers at me and EAP for NO REASON, other than the fact that we both voted for bonzai with Ntellier (which makes no sense because all 3 Mafia wouldn't vote for the same person in Day 1, thats a dumb move).
To me its plain as day that Ntellier is not Mafia, he is the Inspector, and he fucked up in Day 1. He admitted it, and now he's trying to at least run with it while he can to help the Townspeople.
If Ntellier is dead in Day 1, we NEVER know whether he is telling the truth until the end of the game. We let Ntellier live a little longer, and we can create some pressure on the Mafia and see what they do over night.
