I figure it can't be TOO douchey if it's from 12-4:00 on Saturday? As long as booze is free, I'm down. If there's no free booze and I have to pay for fruity Paris Club drinks, then I guess we'll be on our merry way...

Anyone get confirmation from the Twin Shadow/Neon Indian/Passion Pit DJ Set show at Logan Square? I got one last night from the Taco Bell sponsored Delta Spirit show (already forgot where that was), but not the first one.
I"m going to the Rolling Stone party at Studio Paris Friday so I can give an update if it sucks, however, it clearly says food and drinks included so it can't be too bad.

Additional tickets JUST released for Passion Pit, tune-yards and Of Monsters and Men Official Aftershows this weekend at House of Blues Chicago! bit.ly/aZOQh
Thank you. I was able to snag a Tune Yards ticket but unfortunately Of Monsters and Men was already sold out.
Just got my confirmation for Neon Indian/Twin Shadow as well. It says they'll start lining up people at 7PM and I am going to try get there by then.
I am going to be sleeping in my car during the fest. I have a few neighborhoods in mind after some research that I'm going to check out on Thursday during the day. Anyone happen to know somewhere within roughly three miles of the fest that a person can park for free at all weekend?
I'm doing Lollapalooza -- Jack White in Omaha Monday -- Justice at Red Rocks Tuesday -- Outside lands in San Francisco Friday. I don't need to be to California until later on Thursday. Does anyone have suggestions of things to do along the way, I was thinking specifically of hiking near Denver or Salt Lake. I know this is late but if anyone has any suggestions let me know. Hope everyone has a great fest!

Nah the picture's showing up fine for me.
And your friend is pretty awesome for selling them for only $200. Was she just trying to get rid of them or did they drop that much? They were consistently $300+ on stubhub and Ebay for a long while.

I love you, dude. You're fu*king nuts, but I love you.
If you're going to try and keep your car in one area, you might want to look at like at like the Wrigleyville area. It's right off the Red Line, which would make to/from relatively easy and your chances of a homeless going head first through your windshield or a stray bullet hitting your car are lessened. That said, watch out for street sweeping signs and check for Cubs night games. When you say "sleep" in your car, do you mean reclining your driver's seat or do you have something where you can crash in the back? If it's the former, you run the risk of folks calling the cops on the "dude sleeping in his car" outside their place. I've spent a couple nights in alleys in the back of my car in that hood.
On Denver, your hiking opportunities are virtually endless. Just hit the googles and head into the hills. I'm not a "favorite camping area" type of guy, but I have a few places if you're looking for a sure thing. That said, they're primarily pay spots - cheapies - but National Park areas w/night fees.
Good luck and shoot me a message if want any other info. Chicago and Denver are both home to me.

Haha thanks so much for the info, dude. I'm checking out Wrigleyville area stuff right now. 'll be sleeping in the trunk of my 1998 Mercury Tracer so no worries about me being spotted. I did the same thing by Golden Gate Park during Outside Lands last year and it was interesting to be sleeping in my car outside million dollar apartments. I watched Rome on my computer each not before bed. I am going to do it again this year but will be watching Shamless season 2.
I'm just looking for day hike type stuff since I forgot my tent but I'm going to see what I can find on some hiking sites. I'll report back so long as I'm not found dead on the streets of Chicago after being shanked by a hobo's broken crack pipe. Thanks again so much. Going to be an incredible trip.

I thought you were nuts at first too. However, you'll be fine if no one can see you. I would agree that Wrigleyville is your best bet. I would concentrate you search about 5 blocks west and 5 blocks south of the ballpark. I am pretty sure there isn't permit parking over there and it is relatively safe.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
We're flying out late tonight and getting in around 1:00am. Blah. We'll cab it over to Lake Point Towers, where we'll be crashing for the weekend. Pretty awesome little place, but I have a 70-something year old cousin who has basically been squatting in my Great Aunt's swanky condo for months now. So, we'll have a roommate, but we can live with that. Incredible panoramic views of the lake and it's only about a 15 minute walk to the North entrance of the fest.
Isn't a Mercury Tracer pretty small? How the hell do you fit in the trunk.
'Tis a small car with no AC and a tape deck haha. Back seats fold down so I'm in the trunk with my legs sticking out onto the seat. I've done it quite a few times and know how to be comfy, plus I have two battery operated fans so I won't be hot. I am leaving for Chicago right now. This is my favorite lineup of the fest season and I'm so excited for my first Lolla. Have an incredible weekend, all!
