Whatever, Arcade Fire sold out their Chicago UIC arena date last year in about 2 seconds and then sold out two additional dates to make up for it. I got scalped tickets for the easter show and had a blasphemous time.
If you're bummed out about hotel rates for Chicago, definitely look into a Craigslist roomshare/sublet/bedbnb.com thing. I can help anyone out if they want insight as far as neighborhoods go, Chicago really isn't that big (in comparison to New York, I guess) and public transit is so easy - there are only a few lines you'll possibly use and they're freaking color coded. If you want a Brooklyn-y setting, try Wicker Park (Bucktown is essentially the same but a little more upscale granola yuppy infested) or Ukrainian Village or Logan Square. All are around the blue line which will get you right down to the LaSalle stop and then you have got about a city block walk which is nothing.
Forgot to highlight this little nugget from the article as well. Goodbye Perry's:
Inside the festival, stages will once again be reconfigured to alleviate bottlenecks. Last year, a massive tent near the main stage housed electronic-music artists and DJ’s such as Skrillex to overflowing crowds. This year, the tent will likely be eliminated and the hugely popular electronic acts will be spread throughout the festival grounds, including at least one main-stage act, Jones said. Though the festival could potentially hold more people, “we’ll stay where we are in terms of numbers,” he said.

I think Perry mentioned in an interview somewhere that Lolla is going to be almost half electronic this year. So honestly good riddance to that digustingly hot peterass set up.
Perry said he would EVENTUALLY like the festival to be half electronic.
#1 Perry didn't say 2012 would be half electronic #2 Perry likes to exagerate #3 Perry doesn't book the bands
It sounds like they want to set aside slots on the bigger stages for the larger acts that would normally headline the smaller Perry's stage. Maybe eventually the field where the North main stage is located will only feature electronic acts later in the day (like Deadmau5 last year), but I'm not expecting a drastic change this year.
I don't know if I think Florence + the Machine will headline. I think one more top 6 name she will be 7 or 8 behind justice
Most of us think that if Phoenix could headline in 2010, FloMo could headline in 2012. She's right on the cusp. She's selling out major venues this summer already.

Don't get me wrong I think she could I'm just thinking if they get a huge name then it will be 5 headliners like when Radiohead played unopposed in 08
One of them is in Europe on Saturday. Looks unlikely.
For anyone else I would say this would be a deal breaker, but SHM uses jets to fly to gigs all the time and has made some crazy gigs in the past. I'm not losing out hope just yet.
The sucky thing about SHM potentially not playing is that the same guy (DiCriscenso) who tweeted that he had insider info about them playing also tweeted that Sigur Ros would be there as well. If he was wrong about the former, he could be wrong about the latter. Of course, he also said that Jeff Mangum and PJ Harvey were playing Pitchfork and they have yet to be added to the lineup (although there's time).
The Lolla $75 Secret Sale is happening. We're not going to tell you exactly when (or else it wouldn't be a secret!), just be sure you're checking our website this week for the update.
My previous post along with my username on here are a reference to Caligula's servant in the film Caligula. It is also the name of my 5 year old male kitty.
The ticket page is now updated with prices and dates for 3-day passes. Souvenirs are "coming soon" and will be $75/ticket. $200 for early birds on March 27th and $230 to buy a ticket after the lineup drops in a couple weeks.
And no, I don't know when the secret sale will be.
