Yeah my prediction has always been Black Keys/Metallica/Watch The Throne ... Guess we'll just see how it pans out. But no surprise at all over Black Keys.

There's a new hotel opening up called Lincoln Hotel. I'm sure they will be running some good rates to get people in the door. It's in a much better location than the china inn. Just throwing that out there.
I seriously doubt The Black Keys would be a headliner for lolla...they'd end up playing at dusk before the headliner like they did last year for hangout.

The Black Keys are a top 3 headliner at Coachella. They will be top 3 at Lolla, too.

I don't see why Black Keys are headlining these major festivals.....they are not THAT good. Flavor of the moment'd. Arcade Fire'd.
(I've seen them 4 or 5 times)
I don't get how a band with 7 CDs out is a flavor of the week. I love the hate they get as a headliner, they sale plenty of tickets at these arena shows they play. The Black Keys are old school rock and roll I love that they have made it big time they deserve it.
Plenty of bands have lots of albums out but aren't that popular (Of Montreal...) Everyone was going crazy over Arcade Fire last year because of that Grammy and now I don't see a mention of them. Saw them in at Jazzfest last year and wasn't impressed at all. I did blow it though, I left to go to Willie Nelson and I missed seeing Arcade Fire play Girls Just Want To Have Fun with Cyndi f'n Lauper........that would have been pretty sick.
And The Black Keys are only headlining material because they scooped up some Grammys last year. Oh lawd, how long has it been since that was a respectable award? I'd much rather have veteran musicians headlining major festivals, but I will take The Black Keys over an EDM derp hitting play on his laptop any day of the year.
Also, I hope Dead Can Dance are a possibility for lolla. As of right now they only have one US date and it's on Aug 27 near DC....just before they embark on a fairly extensive European tour. I don't know how they feel about playing festivals though.
Whoa dude, didn't know you knew about Dead Can Dance!! I was big into them back in the mid '90's. I have an Into the Labyrinth shirt somewhere I need to find it. I've got that CD and Spiritchaser somewhere.
They have to be unbelievable live. I'd love to see them and Bauhaus, and Siouxsie again. I missed out, before I would drive more than 2 hours for shows, I missed out on NIN w/ Bauhaus on 6/6/06 in Birmingham. No excuse for that one....
There's no mention of Arcade Fire right not because they aren't touring and don't have new music out.
This sounds about right. I'm not an Arcade Fire fan at all, but they're probably going to be a big name for a long time. They play well to the big crowds, and I wouldn't underestimate the dedication of their fans. People freaking LOVE that band. They retain headliner status until they release a Metal Machine Music or Win Butler gets arrested for child molestation or something weird.
The biggest difference between Arcade Fire and the Black Keys is how well they play to 10,000+ crowds. I know I keep repeating this, but the Black Keys can't make that connection yet. Arcade Fire can.

When does the Lolla lineup usually come out? I was going to look it up on the lolla boards, but those can be a pain in the ass compared to the nice layout here.
Latest headliner guesses/rumors: RHCP, Black Keys, Kanye/Jay, Jack White, Swedish House Mafia, Florence + The Machine. Basnectar, Justice, and Kaskade on Perry's stage.

Anything ever come from that Cure playing MSG in August rumor?
If Lolla gets both Watch the Throne and Jack White that'd be fine with me.
