just saw bassnectar in tallahassee tonight, and if skrillex is anything like that i wont be seeing him at roo. show was great for an hour, but nothing changed. after that i just had a headache and got pissed at all the people pushing me. glad i tried it, but i guess edm shows arnt my thing.

Deadmau5 said it himself the other day on his webcast. Without Molly, sid, shrooms and X the edm scene wouldn't be nearly as big as it is. And I'll add booze to that list too

^ you can add booze to seeing live music in general. alot of people wouldn't see live music if they couldn't drink

I would not give up on EDM some of it is really good, all the dubstep shows I have seen have been like that for me as well though.

There's so much good EDM out there, and this board (I'm definitely guilty of this as well) ends up discussing Skrillex, Deadmau5, Bassnectar, and Girl Talk more than anything else by a long shot.

There is LCD Soundsystem, but lets be fair they really are not EDM.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Okay, before anyone takes me previous comment seriously, keep in mind I'm painting an African tribal mask with fluorescent paints so I can glow in the dark at SBTRKT.

You know I love you, but Girl Talk is in no way shape or form EDM.
His songs are created via a laptop and electronic software. People definitely dance at his shows.

Me too. I went from having 5 awesome points to -1 because I defended mindless shallow party music like Skrillex having a time and place, and suggesting that E and electronic music had a symbiotic relationship.

Troo Music Lounge is unhealthy for your awesome points. I seem to lose some everytime I venture in here. Ill be at skrillex with you. It should be a great party.
I'm not trying to bash on Skrillex at all(I like him), but this is one of the most biased "all-time" lists I have ever read put out my a major publication. A list of the 100 greatest guitarist of all time that does not include Hendrix, Page, or Clapton is no different than anyone of us picking of 100 favorite bands and saying theirs is one of the best guitarists of all time. They do say that in the intro, but calling it a list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time is just laughable. /RANT
