Is skrillex the best live dj, no. Does he have the best live production, no. Will it be a great show, no. Will it be packed, yes. Will it be a very very good time, yes. Will I be there, yes. Just like most things at roo, dont take it so seriously and have a blast.
Well then if you're going to just hit play and jump around and smoke cigarettes at least have a good light show or stage set up. At least more than just a big screen with a robot mimicking your ever move. Look at Sphongle or Pretty Lights or something. They are great live producers. But even if they weren't they have some good eye candy on stage.
I Don't venture on to this part of the forum much (Mostly because everyone has an opinion and they all suck) but if I'm up, I'll check his shit out for a few minutes.

I'm not a Skrillex fan, but I imagine that would be a lot of fun late night on corn on the farm
I hope thats the stage production he brings to Bonnaroo and not that ugly ass spaceship thing.
Seriously! I saw him a couple weeks ago at Bamboozle and he still had the spaceship thing, but this vid is from his most recent festival (i <3 san diego) so either he just upgraded or it was property of the fest.. Fingers crossed!

Anyone who sees SBTRKT and then goes to see Skrillex is going to be wondering why he even needs to be on stage. He might as well just put bangerrang on a cd player and chill backstage. Everyone would be just as happy because "OMG! The light show was soooooooooo good!"
I wish Pretty Lights was on the lineup again because at least then there would be an overhyped EDM act actually worth listening to. I prefer artists with a unique sound over those who take a style popular 5 years ago and regurgitate it onto their Mac book.

see, this shit just puts the biggest smile on my face. I really don't try to defend skrillex, because I totally understand why one would find it annoying or horrible, but it just strikes a chord with me.
the sound of american dubstep is like the sound of whats been going on in my deranged head all my life. i don't know any other way to explain it.

I'm actually pretty convinced that the Skrillex show will be a good time. I just don't know if it will be 2 hours worth of a good time. 2 hours is a looooot of Skrillex. Might have to go check out what else is happening at some point.
I like the way this was scheduled, because I can catch either Superjam or Alice Cooper, and then see half of his show and call it a night "early" (seeing as Umphrey's could possibly play until dawn) the night before

This is my old account. I just forgot the password. Talk about a blast from the past...
Anyway, Skrillex isn't playing. But I would welcome it if he was.

i had so much fun at that 2012 set. was in the pit and it was wild. however my intense love of dubstep burned bright and burned out. i still enjoy a little bit every now and again. would catch at least a little of a skrillex set at a future festival barring conflicts.
Plus it's Daft Punk. By now they have earned to right to do what they want. When Skrillex is as important to electronic music as Daft Punk is then I will stop complaining about him. EDIT: I think all they are really saying in that Pitchfork article is they are breaking away from their analogue gear and switching to more digital stuff than they used in the past.
idk who this was but this is a fun prompt, Skrillex's importance (which is probably code for influence/relevance)...
he's pretty important in the landscape and has had a pretty long impact from like 2010 to 2021 (whether or not you think it is a good or bad thing)

Luckily for you, Bonnaroo headliners don't have conflicts.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
