Kyle called about the room rate thing last week and the SAME thing happened. All of a sudden I had an email confirming my cancellation "per Dr. Patel". I almost had a heart attack, but luckily when I saw it, Kyle had already fixed it because he had received the phone call.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

It's the kind of thing that happens when demand far exceeds the supply. DTI is the cheapest hotel room in downtown Asheville on a weekend where a ton of people are going to be in town for a music festival in downtown Asheville. They can afford to be jerks about it at this point because it would be very difficult and probably much more expensive to find another room in walking distance of downtownd even if you did cancel your room, there are probably a bunch of people waiting in line to take it.
I just got a call from someone at the downtown inn confirming my reservation. Same price hike as before but tbh I ain't even mad. Its still pretty cheap split two ways.
Just got this, pretty rad for those of us going to Justice:
"If you are continuing your amazing Asheville weekend by attending Moogfest 2012, you will be able to check in to the festival early in the U.S. Cellular Center lobby at the Justice show from 7pm to 10pm on Thursday, October 25. If you have a Weekend Pass or Friday single day ticket for the festival, please bring it with you on Thursday and you'll be able to grab your wristband before anyone else! (Please note: If you have a Saturday single day pass for Moogfest you can only check in on Saturday)."
Thanks for posting that skatterd. I was not looking forward to that wait on Friday.
I waited less than 5 minutes for my band around 3-3:30 last year, but getting it a day early and not making the extra trip to the ACC is a win in my book.

You guys seen this. Some stuff in there I wasn't aware of.
Of interest-
Thursday "Whether or not you’re holding a ticket to Moogfest, you can go to MinimoogFest at the Moog Music Factory's store (160 Broadway St.). It’s free and open to the public. Check out DJ sets by locals Marley Carroll and In Plain Sight (below; winners of the Remix Orbital for Moogfest contest), along with MSSL CMMND (featuring Chad Hugo from N.E.R.D. and Daniel Biltmore). Sponsored by QSC, Pisgah Brewing and Buchi. 3-6 p.m."
Friday "Local experimental and underground arts collective SWAMPING (get to know some of the musicians on compilation albums New Weird Asheville, Vol. 1 and 2) hosts two afternoons of music at Apothecary (39 S. Market St.). The unoffical showcase — titled, all seasonally appropriate-like, Haunted Days — features 10 groups from in and around Asheville. Performances are free, open to all ages, and run from 2-7 p.m. each day. Friday, Oct. 26: Morbids (deathgaze), Chorus House (singer-songwriter), Alligator Indian (surreal synth-pop), The Decent Lovers (alt-pop) and Albert Adams (math-rock)"
Saturday "Swamping's Haunted Days at Apothecary continues with Housefire (analog acid trance), Thai Food Duo (effected guitar and vocals mixed with samples and beats), The Charlotte Hornets (Grammer School side project with keys, guitar, effects and drums), Date Night (loop-based synth) and Balloon Animal Farm (psyche drone)"

I have up dragged myself to VIP, picked some up off Craigslist. Since I am not the original buyer I never got the email with checkin details. Can someone forward it to me? Or at least tell me where checkin is for VIP? Thanks
I finally decided to not even worry about going to half of EITS (they tour all the time around here, I'm sure I'll run into a show of theirs, sometime), so I'm actually just going straight into Richie Hawtin after Blondes... I may make my way over there, though, at some point.
You would go see Ana Sia who tours all the time over an awesome rare get like Richie Hawtin! :-P
I said 80%. Also, I am going to be at the DWT right before that.
Speaking of, I got a bunch of Ahleuchatistas stuff in the Grab Bag last week, CD's, stickers, etc, let me know if you want it and I'll bring it with me. I'm not a fan.

I'll take some of it since I helped with the answer a little and I think they're pretty awesome. I know a few other people are fans, so you could give out the rest at brunch maybe.
Just made a last minute change to my schedule and replaced Santigold with Andy Stott after hearing a bit of his new album.
Good choice. That new album is crazy awesome.
Also, to update, I asked Marley Carroll about his set times for that show on Thursday. He said doors open at 3pm and he goes on at 4pm. Abra saw him last year and said he is incredible live.
