I tried to get through a couple of pages. I couldn't. I tried to skim a couple more. It was bad and reminded me of users vs. sysops on name your favorite bulletin board system (bbs) circa 1990. I encountered a level of asskissing and suck wrapped into whatever else got said to the point that one (mod?) suggested that editing some poster's post would be like editing a Monet. LFMAO if a head isn't planted that far up an ass (unless it was a joke).
All I could get out of it was that bacon (who I read) some kind of way got banned for maybe not much (??) and it sparked an exodus of several posters and trolls - many of whom returned later on. I also appreciated Superfurry for saying it was the worst thing on Inforoo at the time. I came for the music discussion and festival scoops. Internet drama is even lamer now with social media, but this was still pretty bad from the outside looking in and not really caring.

I said it was the "worst thing" because it was a lot of really really good posters that I was friends with. lol

It was truly a loss to the board.
Yeah. I read the first page and got reminded of all the people I enjoyed having around who aren't anymore, and it made me sad.
I'll trust you on that. From an outsider perspective it was also worst. I'd seen that in the late 80's, 90's, early 2000's etc. from different groups on different internet and pre-internet formats. I didn't spend enough time reading beyond a mention of A few posters who I don't feel like in the later days maybe lived up to the hype or contributed anything at all worth anything to the site (with maybe an exception or two). Obviously that wasn't the case back then for those of you who knew or interacted with whoever they were.
I wasn't around as much during this time period so I don't remember the details all that well. There were several ongoing feuds with different members. I can't say anyone was totally blameless or guilty. Depends on how you think members of a forum should conduct themselves I guess. I did a lot of the same things these guys did. Fighting trolls and idiots, etc. But they'd get into it with board regulars more often and that tended to end up with mods needing to take some form of action. So then people would react to mod decisions and things would turn into more drama.

If we are just talking musical knowledge they contributed more to this place than a decent majority of users. I didn't really mind them being mean and fighting with people. Most of the people they fought with were trolls and/or dumbasses anyway. Forums with be chaos without some enforcers.
Although I don't recall Wolf fighting with folks all that often.
I wasn’t posting much at the time but here’s roughly how it was explained to me. The old forum owner/admin was kind of a butt, so people harassed him a fair amount, particularly emoney because emoney is emoney. But even though E surely did a large number of extremely irritating things, he was banned because the admin accused him of “hacking” Inforoo or something. When everyone tried to explain to the admin that his ass was showing and that Emoney couldn’t have actually hacked the board, he refused to back down, so lots of people just quit in protest.
After a brief attempt to monetize Inforoo, said admin was run out on a rail and turned the board over to the mods, most of whom no longer post here either. emoney was allowed to return and we all lived happily ever after.

LOL I totally forgot this whole drama was apart of it.
He also flipped out about the old chat because it had the Inforoo name. Which was more drama with Emoney.
I just remembered Juggs once got banned for changing his avatar to a naked picture of someone doing yoga.
