Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Can somebody resurrect emoney's sig? I kinda miss that.
Cliff Poncier: I used to live out by the airport, underneath the flight patterns. It was really noisy with the planes going by all day. I used to have cookouts, and no one would come because of the noise. I got used to it. And then, when I moved... I missed the noise. I missed those planes.
Janet Livermore: Cliff, what are you talking about?

I'll show up this year. Everyone I've met in person on this board has been solid, that's kind of what sucks about today our differences appear to mean more than our similarities. One of the things I like best about Bonnaroo or Inforoo for that matter is that I get to set aside my differences with people and spend time focusing on and enjoying a common passion. We'll definitely get together for a drink or whatever at Roo Jess.

Sounds good at a minimum drinking will be involved.

X-Post from the Ferris Bueller thread-
This place wouldn't be the same without the likes of Juggs, Flanzo, Zapp, etc. Here's to hoping they come back, I'll still be here
There are a lot of people here who I dont agree with. Whether it be the mods with their decisions that I dont agree with or the people who annoy me with their posts like Jess and Phi and natedogg, I am sure that despite our differences online they are all good people, and Im not going to let it ruin a place as great as Inforoo. Since Ive been here Ive had such a good time getting to know some of these posters, a few of which left today, reading the ridiculous rants and arguments (Juggs) that go on here and most importantly learning and talking about all the great music you guys listen to. Thats enough for me to let a few disagreements now and then blow over. I think a lot of people overreacted today and hopefully they'll realize that and come back soon, this place wont be the same without em
I'm getting really bummed anytime I see a white name.
Yeah, I just rolled over Zapp's name in TML and was bummed to have no link. I'm really going to miss those guys. There are some posters that I always check out the stuff they're listening to and he was certainly one of them.

For the posters who uphold optimism and positive outlook on these adverse circumstances certainly is both refreshing and humbling.
Seniority wise, I consider myself a younger member of the board. Let me just say you are the kind of senior-board-members I aspire to be. You both set the precedent on how a responsible inforoo poster should act and behavve in any circumstance, and I think you guys are most spot on with the bigger picture of things... which is Bonnaroo. We are here to celebrate all that is Bonnaroo.
That being said, as a younger member of the board, the events of today and last week didn't hit me as personally as it did most of you.... but it saddens me right now to see a community that I've come to admire and look up to get shaken up and it hurts to see it's reputation put on the line.
So to the hundreds of other Inforoosters that stay optimistic and keep focusing on the bigger picture, thank you for keeping hope alive for me that this community will overcome all this drama and Bonnaroo and Inforoo will remain as kick ass as it has been for me over the past couple of years.
I owe you all a beer.
edit: originally I posted this mentioning a couple people by name, but after Bunny "liked" the post, I decided it would be unfair to just acknowledge just two of you. SOOOOOO many people on here make this place such a kick ass place to wind down, hangout, and just pass time.... You all deserve recognition.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
The last thing I'll say on this is that a lot of the posters who were around when I first joined are no longer here and haven't been for years. People come and go, it's life. At the end of the day I'll continue posting here because I love Bonnaroo and have nothing better to do than argue about music with people I don't know. No one person is going to change whether or not I post, and honestly a lot of people seem to be taking things a bit more serious than necessary and are acting entitled at the same time. If you don't want to post here that's fine, but making a spectacle of yourself cheapens your efforts to make a point.

My two cents: In the past few years I've scaled by my Inforoo interactions back considerably and mainly partake in a fair amount of lurking (aside from Now Playing contributions). As someone who's been on here since lurking in '05 and finally joining in early '06, I'll say it's really quite fascinating to see the transformation of personalities the board gone through. With that, there are some things about Inforoo that will never change: the relationships formed, the new music discovered, the corn eaten, the laughs we've shared, the insomnia-laden nights, the drunken ramblings, the intense lineup suspense & deliberations, the necessary & unnecessary dramas, the life lessons learned, and one serious goddamn sense of camaraderie that is unparalleled. The people I've met through this board and the music I've learned of is, and will always be, fucking priceless. I feel privileged to be part of the Bonnaroo community. Despite Sam or Myself not making the trip South this year for our 8th straight, we will always be proud of our Inforoo roots. We belong to a community of people who lay claim to the 6th or 7th largest city in Tennessee for one weekend a year. Don't lose sight of that. The dark Inforoo clouds will pass people, they always do. I love you all. Have a fantastic evening.
I would also say (not as a mod) this place is a lot more than just a message board to me. I hope the ones that left will find their way back.
I agree completely. I know the "internet is serious business" meme always gets posted when stuff like this happens, but ya Inforoo is important to me. It is my daily connection to Bonnaroo, an event and place that is very special to me. I often say Bonnaroo changed my life and it is true. I rarely mention the part that Inforoo had in preparing me for my first Bonnaroo and helping me express my feelings about Bonnaroo afterwards, but it was a large part indeed. On top of that my music tastes have evolved and grown vastly since then, with many thanks to the members of Inforoo. Members, many of which, I have met in person and consider friends (and hope they consider me likewise). Many others members who I want greatly to meet at Bonnaroo, Forecastle, or wherever this year. So ya the internet is serious business, say whatever you want but Inforoo is an important part of my life and chances are if you are reading this it is an important part of your life too.
Have fun, talk about music, discuss bonnaroo, play some games in the arcade, talk about sports, talk about film and tv, and have a good time.
I agree with all those things, but for me, the board is much more than that.
The whole is a lot bigger than the sum of the parts.
I understand that. It is a small community where people make friends and everything. But not taking it too seriously and having fun and being able to disagree and take cracks at people all in fun is what makes it a community of mostly like minded people. If anyone quits because they disagree with what has been going on for just a couple of days then they don't get it. I have been in fist fights with some of my best friends and we all still best friends to this day. A little bit of message board drama is such minor thing to throw a hissy fit over. Crap happens every once in a while. Get up and get on with it.

Every one of the guys was a member of something we all love. Every one of them brings a different "flavor" to this board. Every one of them at one point made me laugh, or think, or roll my eyes, and/or want to discover/enjoy/purchase/share new music.
They're family. And sometimes family gets on your last damn nerve. That's just what family does.
I'm gonna miss every single one of 'em. Zapp, man...he's a walking encyclopedia of music. I discovered more bands based on his "Now Playing" posts. And his photography? I'm honored to have some of his prints framed and hanging on my walls. He's good people and will be sorely missed.
Juggs, AWATD, S2, FlanzO, Karosko, and the others (really, Karosko? damn, dude, we were just with you this time last week!) - all of 'em share our common passion: music. And passionate people can make emotion-driven decisions. Maybe a hiatus will do some good...and in time, things will be back on an even keel. Hopefully that will happen; hopefully that day comes sooner than later.
So even if I disagree with your posts, your decisions, your music taste, your friends, your avatar, or whatever else we critique each other about - whether you're a member or a mod - YOU are uniquely awesome in some way. You make this board what it is & I'm glad you're here.
