there is a new "cool" breakfast chain in town. we went and my wife got the french toast, turns out it was french bread that they deep fried. pretty goddamn awful.

BOOO!!! Surry's on Magazine, has a banana fosters french toast that is made from French bread and is to fucking die for. Super fucking sweet, but damn it's good.
Cracker Barrel is pretty meh. Still better than Denny's though.
I’m not a fan of either, but if I had to choose it’s Cracker Barrel all day. I still have a vague childhood memory of travelin’ with my family and we stopped at a Denny’s fer dinner. I was a picky eater, and I think the only thing on their kids menu I would tolerate was a hot dog. I swear that thing was a greenish-grey color and I may have taken one bite before nopin’ outta that.

i went through a pretty fervent cracker barrel period in my life. inexpensive, hot, fast, good service, and biscuits and cornbread. nothing there is great really but rarely did i leave unhappy. been a while since i've been there though.
