Local Natives were great-- as were the broadcasts of Of Monsters and Men, Modest Mouse, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and then I fell asleep. Watching the Earl Sweatshirt replay and not very impressed. Can't wait to check out HTDA, and apparently Purity Ring in a few mins.
The first 10 minutes of Grinderman was astounding. Wish I could have seen that whole thing, can't miss Blur though
Blur is my call of order today. Once Nick went into the crowd and started "Tippy Tippy Toe-ing", it was all over for me. Holy shit, I passed out being so pissed off at myself. God, how I love that fucking band.

I'm catching up on what I missed or only saw part of yesterday. The Purity Ring girl is soooo pretty. Even at eleven in the morning that last song they played is a killer. Time to watch the Alt-J show everyone loved. cr****
Watching the Infected Mushroom rebroadcast, one of the guys in the group has his kid up there with him. So cute. He's just hanging out in the pod thingie dancing with dad.
I hit a wall around 1E/10P last night ... and started watching again like 8:30E/5:30P this morning.
Lee Scratch Perry was awful, I wasn't paying too much attention during Passion Pit tbh, Local Natives were decent, I'm too much of a raging lefty to not like Jello Biafra, Sparks was worse than Perry, Of Monsters and Men were good like always, caught a little of YYY's but wasn't paying much attention.
Right now going back and forth between Grinderman (wasn't familiar with them before) and Blur. Blur isn't bad, but Grinderman is killing it. Oh wait, that was the last song for Grinderman - back to Blur for Coffee and TV, yeay.
Were the Local Natives as good as I thunk them to be last night or was it just the booze-colored glasses I was wearing?
No they were amazing. It's nice to hear how well their voices hold up live unlike Passion Pit. Really hoping to avoid a Kendrick Lamar/Local natives conflict.

Matt, I found all of Alt-J on Youtube but am having trouble locating other stuff. I assume it will all be uploaded in time by people. I have a hard decision for tonight: Go see The Men for free at a college or stay in to watch the webcast in chat. This is no good. cr*****
I only caught a song or two of HTDA last night, and can't say I was that impressed. Going to rewatch it today when I can put the volume up, but last night all I could feel was it was just...there. Her whispery vocals just weren't doing it for me. It could be that I just want NIN back, so take this opinion with a grain of salt Their stage setup did look amazing though.
Earl Sweatshirt also failed to impress, I won't be at his show at 'roo this year. I know it's cliche, but he really does fall into the category of "live rap sucks" for me. You mainly here his backing vocal track, with him yelling out his lines barely able to keep up with the delivery. Very few rap acts that I've seen have impressed me, even if I like their recorded material. Commence the hate.
On that note though, J5 was awesome last night, they still know how to bring it
Anyone know how this rebroadcast shindig is working? Is it literally just the same stuff in the same order on the same channels as last night? Or am I hoping for something too simple? Is there a schedule anywhere?

I'm with ya stuff, live rap seems more hit or miss than any other genre for the live performance. Oh yeah and J5 were pretty good for the couple songs I caught. It transported me back to youth. I remember playing basketball with a chain net at my cousin's while a CD player set up on a broken car blasted "Quality Control." It's some of the first rap I remember hearing outside of Sir Mix-A-Lot haha.

I though PP dude's voice was really good last night and that their show was kicking ass. They definitely have off nights but I'm pretty sure yesterday wasn't one of them. Plus I could go on and on about his tongue. More tongue shots and less screen savers please! cr*****

As far as I can tell it's rebroadcasting every channel in the same order it played yesterday.

You can rewind the rebroadcast they are doing right now. So just go to whichever channel of the 3 that you want and play with it until you find what you are looking for. I'm watching Purity Ring right now.
I was just thinking the other day about ending all of my posts with aw**** Some people would probably think I meant aw shit or something and I could be like "Naw that's my signature, maaaaan. I'm Alabama Wes."

Ahhhh! Such good news. This means I can actually shower today. Thanks for the heads up. cr*****

I'm probably just being dense, but what on earth does "cr****" mean? That's been bugging me for a while actually.

It never ceases to amaze me how much the cr**** effects people.

I should go back to see the Grinderman set in entirety, but Foals just came on Ch 3. So probably after HtDA I'll go back for it.

The guy's name is Ron and he's from Colorado. CR = Colorado Ron. The ***** is how many stars he rates his performance in bed. NDN*

His production staff def. demanded he use the backtrack; which actually was the whole track. He's a kid, I think just 19 at this point -- he hasn't done a lot of major venues and they are worried. Which is stupid because it ruined the set for me. On that note, he had no reason to be on a stage that big -- Odd Future shows seem to make more sense in tight space (or tent as will happen at Roo). J5 was fine, but mostly because I like Chali2na and Cut Chemist.
So blame the production staff, not all rappers use the backing track like that.
If you hated Lee Scratch Perry, LD, you probably didn't get to the end of his show. and his goddang 77 cut the dude some slack; his voice got stronger throughout the set. And Sparks was hilarious -- don't take music so damn serious.
Thoroughly enjoyed: Japandroids, Local Natives, Modest Mouse, and Blur. HTDA's display/graphics were off the charts amazing
