I'm thinking there will be an informal brunch Saturday morning (10-12) somewhere where we can watch Gameday since it looks like it will be at the FSU-Clemson game. An 8pm gametime is killing my husband. Me too.

schedule-ish: Friday shows start at 4:30 - want to get in there an hour or two beforehand?! All the peeps staying at Chez Mayo plan on getting to my house sometime Friday before 2? capeesh?
Friday after partay - we can marta anywhere, or try to walk to something nearby. Walking to something nearby may be a hassle, as the rest of the fest will also be going to something nearby. That said, we can decide that night! Most of us have each other's numbers, so we can text on a meeting place in the park (if we aren't already together) and then head out. Plenty of amazeballs bars within marta/taxi distance.
Saturday shows start at 1pm. If you guys want to watch GameDay, and be within walking distance to the park, the mellow mushroom or the Independent at 10th and Monroe may work, there is also a Hudson Grille and a Taco Mac (best choice) on Peachtree at 10th-ish. TMac would be the best choice as they have the good beers, and many many TVs. Saturday after partaaaay - we can rock the same plan as friday night. taxi/marta out or walk to a nearby place.
Sunday BRUNCH Mission: Soak Up the Alcohol. Booze isnt served by the drink until noon. So where ever we go, I say we meet at 11:30? That gives all you hotel dwellers time to check out? I was thinking we could hit up this little place in the Highlands, bc there is a patio and it's generally not busy until after noon or 1 - Osteria - they have foccacia bread french toast y'all. However, not the best place for greasy food and bloody marys. Next choice - Brewhouse Cafe (has large outside patio) or the Porter (small outside seating but AMAZING beer choices and food).
There's our choices. Honestly, the Brewhouse is gonna serve our large party needs best I think. If you guys are down, I can call them and give them a heads up on our big ol' group - 20+?

Me and Mrs. MLR (she's honored to be mentioned on the boards by the way) will be getting into town on Friday afternoon just in time for Joan Jett, and we have to leave Saturday afternoon for awhile to attend my wife's 10 year HS reunion. So, meeting up with you guys at a show on Friday or getting together Saturday morning to eat before the shows start are our best bets. We will plan to do both, so keep us posted. (I need to get someone's number so I can text every once and awhile for logistics.)
Do most of us plan to go to the shows together in a big crowd?

MLR - last year we all kind of met up on the hill where we could see both stages, and camped out there. If anyone wanted to head down into the crowd, they did and the blanket on the hill was like "homebase." Not sure if that will go down again this year. I plan on being up in there for Pearl Jam. I do have a friend coming who will either A) have a handi pass, or B) be hanging out on the hill... That said - if she has a handi pass, you bet your face I will be down front for PJ.

My group and I will be arriving on Friday in time for Joan Jett also. I think it is unlikely we will do after-party on Friday or Saturday (although that could change after alcohol is involved....), but we would definitely be up for brunch/lunch on Saturday. We will be staying at the Marriott Suites on 14th NE so hopefully all the stuff is within walking distance for us (or we could get a cab).
We went to a place called the Nook for lunch last year which was across the street from the park. It was pretty cool and had good food.
I'm pretty sure we will be headed out early on Sunday, because I will have not seen my husband for a week at that point.

I am hoping that we can snag the great spot you had last year Mayo. Is that in your plan? I think a few of us are definitely planning on going up front (as far as we can get without waiting forever) to see the Avetts and Pearl Jam, and possibly Foo. But it would be nice to have an area to come back to.

JHo and Sangs - you guys are welcome Thursday night. I took all of Friday off, so we can sleep in, drink coffee, lunch and get on in there or whatever we want. No probs at all.
Dreamingtree - I hope to do that again. that spot was insanely good. If my friend doesnt get a handi pass, then we'll def try to set up in that spot so she can be sitting and rested while we're there for the duration.

I can't believe this thread is so quiet! We only have 7 days! Or maybe I'm the only one that's excited?? This is my last festival until Glastonbury....
I know I'm super excited about next weekend! We should be arriving in ATL around 4pm. Still trying to get lodging squared away. I believe we will head home after PJ Saturday night. My husband wants to drive straight home & watch the Clemson game.

i'm excite! to see pearl jam and foos and you and mayo and everyone else. gonna be fun. i also just got a job. so we won't be there till late fri. i get off work at 4.
yes much celebration will be had. and also that fri. is my wife's b-day.
Yayyy!!!!!
Can we celebrate again at moog too?
Also, if your wife is working Friday night, bring her dinner/cake + candles/flowers for her break. Although I'm sure you already had that up your sleeve, just a girly reminder
anyone need a place to stay ANY night? I have a completely open room. I'm in a northern suburb, not intown but relatively close to Marta. Also somebody can sleep with me if you don't steal covers, snore louder than me or have severe nocturnal digestive issues....lol.
Also, I'm willing to do brunch at my house on Sunday, but sounds like you all are wanting to keep the action intown.
At this point I'm leaning towards going Saturday only.
