Only one that comes to mind that hasn't been mentioned is Jungle. They have an accessible sound, tight show, awesome music videos, and I think they're already close to pre-headliner level in the U.K. All with only 1 album out. If their next couple catch on in the US I think they could headline.
The best answers are Haim and Anderson Paak though.
That would be so fucking dope. There set in 15 was a dance party. I love their music. I think they are working on a second album too. Good call.

Jungle, favorite 2015 set
That jungle set was a fuckin blast. I got separated from my group and ended up towards the front half of the tent and it was a party in there. Before that I had never heard them and became an instant fan.
Considering that we can't even get a consensus as to who qualified as a headliner at previous Bonnaroos, I'm not sure that we'll even be able to acknowledge if there are correct guesses.
But to play along:
Lumineers Kacey Musgraves Ellie Goulding Florence + The Machine
florence + the machine have already headlined lollapalooza, firefly, hangout, osheaga, ACL, and glastonbury...
I think the next album they put out (assuming it is continuing their current trajectory of good albums) will put them firmly in the #3 slot easily. Saw them headline Bunbury last year on the last night and it was an amazing way to end a festival imo.
Has he even done anything since take me to church?
He released a full album in late 2014 that reached #2 on the Billboard 200 and has been certified Platinum by the RIAA. He also played a bunch of festivals last year and was billed fairly high. Considering that he played about 150 shows in 2015 and additional 30 shows in early 2016, I think he has earned himself a break.
