I love Parcels but I don’t see them rising to headliner status.
With another good album, I could see them getting to MMJ status and staying there. Have you seen them live yet?
I saw them on Tuesday and thought the show was great, but I see their trajectory being closer to Jungle. They could always 1901 their way to the top if they come up with that one anthem. The world has not been kind to indie bands as of late though.

Good example in reference to Phoenix. They don't have the production for a big show just yet, but I bet they'll drop some money on that after this tour money comes in and maybe add some electro/synth stuff to the mix a bit more and that should do it.
How cool would it be to have a festival that just featured Australian bands right now? That's where the some of the best indie is coming from.
Tame Impala • Nick Cave • Courtney Barnett • Empire of the Sun • King Gizzard • Parcels • Pond • Gum • Air Supply
Parcels could go full on Tame Impala in the following years but therefor need to write some great songs. Now its idd ging the route of something like Jungle.

Edward Sharpe, Cut Copy , LCD reunion , tame impala (my favorite long shots)
I was two for four with my favorite long shots. I will say that while one of those who didn’t make it ended up just being kinda embarrassing, the other totally deserved more love. Also, screw you Zedd for bumping them off the Which in 2014.
As far as Tame goes, I had written this a couple of years after seeing my buddies band open for them at a 100 cap venue (even chatted with Nick Allbrook that night without a clue who he was). Since then I’ve been lucky enough to catch them open for AC/DC at Coach, sub the Pyramid at Glastonbury, and headline Melt! in Germany. Been awesome to experience a band I truly adore rise to such heights. Here’s hoping that the new album only pushes them further.
Having 5 years between Electric Lady and Dirty Computer definitely didn't help. I think she's there if the next album is as well-received as Dirty Computer was
I don’t personally know of anyone who really listens to her outside people I know that go to fests. Obviously my experience is not absolute, but she hasn’t seemed to have been fully embraced by the mainstream or its audience despite having critically acclaimed music and festival staying power.

Who's the disappointment Sharpe or copy? Assuming Sharpe, I thought once Diddy shouted him out at the Oscars, Alex would be a star for sure

I assumed they meant Sharpe, because Cut Copy both was and is great
Lizzo for sure. she is blowing up. Making a huge leap in venue size on this 2nd leg of of the tour. She just played the TLA in Philly which caps at 1k and when she comes back she is playing The Met which holds 3,500 and is the same venue Billie is playing next month. She has the music to appeal to todays crowd while still keeping her original fans.
some others: Feel like with another big hit/album Portugal the Man will make the leap or come very close.
Anderson .Paak seems to be on his way too, that live show at Coach was on another level and he is also playing much larger venues on this leg of the tour too.
The Revivalists are rising too but I feel like they will level out on the 2nd line at major fests maybe headline some smaller 2nd tier fests. They put on a headlining type performance every time i see them.

I love .Paak's live show and definitely think he deserves to HL, but isn't that tour selling pretty poorly? Thought I read that somewhere

It’s stupidly expensive so I wouldn’t be surprised.
yea, i know it came close in philly but i didnt go bcuz it was way too expensive. cheapest seat came to 65 after fees and when i see 20$ fees i really get turned off. i would have gladly paid 70 for pit but after fees it came to 92 and thats just outrageous.
