If you want to have some good eats, find the location of Praters BBQ (usually way off in the back of the What stage field). It's legit BBQ and amazing food. They pretty much only serve pulled pork sandwiches - but OMG - they are so good.
And they are affordable to! I think they were only like 5 bucks for a good sizes sandwich. Literally all I ate besides snacks after I discovered them on Saturday.
idio, you introduced me (ME! a TN resident, no less!) to Prater's 2yrs ago, and I was hooked after the first bite! Thanks for the reminder! Now pass me a napkin so I can wipe the drool off my keyboard. ;D

I adore praters /drool! Last year some dude in front of us was short a couple dollars and while he was frantically looking for more money she said, "It's okay, enjoy your sandwiches and have a good show." I love those ppl and their food!
Great thread! If you are coming to Manchester through McMinnville on highway 55 stop by their actual Restaurant. It is only about 15 miles from Bonnaroo. No one has mentioned their smoked wings yet? So good!

Ok this is kind of an odd question, but I bought a salmon burger from a BBQ place last year and it literally tasted like heaven in my mouth. Does anyone know if this is the same place?
in 2010 they had BBQ fries on the menu for 7$ which was a huge basket of fries with a sandwich worth of the pork on it and then smothered in sauce. It's almost too much to finish.
Last year they didn't have it on the menu but always made it for me anyway. Super nice people and crazy good food. Check them out
This is as much of a tradition for me as the festival itself. It may not be the first meal I have when i get to Manchester but it is always multiple visits, and the last thing I have on Sunday!

I love love love their barbecue and fries. I think about it all year long. I also share the sweat tea love. Can't wait to chill out in the what stage field and have some Praters.
Prater is a staple in the McMinnville area. They have the best ribs and chicken tenders a man could ask for. I don't think they sell very much stuff at bonnaroo compared to there full menu but like the person above me said. You can check them out going to or leaving the roo on Hwy 55. The restaurant is about 12 mins east down the road from roo. It looks like a hole in the wall place but as we all know those are the best places to eat and very affordable.
