I found out I got strep throat once I was back. I started feeling sick sunday and only saw half of phish and felt worse the ride home monday. O well, bonnaroo was still worth it.
Funny thing tho, I was unable to meet up with a buddy of mine while at bonnaroo but we ran into each other at the hospital tuesday getting our bonnaflu checked out! I couldnt believe it, I was cracking up
That is too funny in a twisted sort of way.
Mine was allergies/dust, lost my voice by sunday but kept on keeping on. Still have the deep husky scratchy voice and over yesterday's everything aches. The latter was probably age vs. flu. The dust just wreaks havoc.
But its way way better than my first roo.... 8 days of 104+ and 4 weeks of highly recommended isolation followed by another 3 weeks for quacker who topped out at 105.3. I'll take the dust snots compared to the real Bonnaflu.. Hemorrhagic conjunctivitis with viral and bacterial strains. We both lost ten pounds in 4 days so that's an upside. These pics are 2 weeks in when my eyes could open...
Had BonnaRhea Thur morning while at Roo, but I think that was just nerves of being at Bonnaroo. Other than that I feel great. I also keep a bandana around my neck at all times and will put it over my face when walking over the dirt paths or in a taxi.

Mine hit Tuesday. Not so bad with the coughing like my roomate but I have the sore throat, super sinus congestion, and head full of cotton. I'm about to go dose myself with NyQuil and hit the sack so I can get 9 hours of sleep before my shift tomorrow.

o.o I went to 'roo with some sort of strep neg bacterial sore throat. It was a nightmare for two weeks... and then I got put on antibiotics the day before roo and all was well by Friday night.
I swear I did not give you all my disease. I practically strapped antibac wipes to my hands all weekend. I even had to be a jerk to people and refuse them a sip of water out of my camelbak :/

Oh man I've been so sick. No energy, throbbing headaches, night sweats, nasty cough, my nose is a water fountain. I'm sure my graveyard shifts at work don't help or the fact that I went from mountain jam to bonnaroo and drank beer for two weeks straight.
However with how awesome of a time I just had, I don't even care about this sickness. Been trying to get better but can't stop smiling and I'm so grateful this all started the day I got home. Totally worth it and I have good memories in my head to make this all bearable.

Aren't you the one who said you have the 'Rhea all the time?

This is my first Roo and I was warned about the dust but I have had a really bad respiratory infection and sinus infection since I woke up Monday morning and the worst part is that it is getting worse as the week goes on. I missed work yesterday and slept all day. This is the worst respiratory/sinus infection I have ever had.
Next year - wet bandanna or mask is a must. I do not want to go through this again.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

Three days back, and these symptoms still apply:
Monster dry cough, with the occasional disgusting as all hell throat gunk. I cannot take deep breaths without shooting lung pain. When I try to exhale it sounds like a car exhaust. Sore throat. Huge head cold, sharp headaches. Fever.
I've been battling if off with mucinex, cough syrup, water^11, ibuprofen, naps, daytime television, and tinychat. So far no improvement, going to doctor today to make sure it's not a respiratory infection.

Same here dude. I have an appointment at 2:15 today.
This is the first year I've ever gotten sick after Roo and it hit me hard. Started with a sore throat on Monday when packing up. I slept from about 6pm Monday till 11am Tuesday and woke up feeling like death warmed over and drenched in sweat. I've blown my nose so many times I seriously don't understand how so much funk can come out of one person. Now it's moved into my chest with a nasty emphysema-sounding cough. I'm so glad I took some extra days off work.

My friend was rubbing his eyes a little bit Sunday night, woke up the next morning they were red and swollen, with little bumps under his eyes. the insides were fine, but just below his eyes.
he also had a serious itch in his nether regions. doctor said he had a yeast infection and had eye irritation. he stayed in a really shitty hotel before roo and felt the towels and bed were filthy. it was a meth motel. i feel bad for everyone who got sick.
i hoe you all feel better. lots of fresh garlic and ginger always clear me right up!
I swear by saline sinus rinses, vitamins and echinacea....I've never gotten the Bonnaflu. I get at least 2 or 3 nasty sinus/respiratory infections a year, so that's a real accomplishment.
I just want to add - I think that the lack of sleep for several days in a row and the harsh conditions weaken our immune system - and the dust is nobody's friend either. You have to make up for it by drinking water, taking vitamins and flushing that nose.

This bears repeating! I stayed well hydrated this weekend, kept my bandana on, and tried to remember that I need to eat. This body I'm in is weird. I typically only eat if I'm feeling hungry. It's not uncommon that 24 hours will go by before I realize I haven't eaten anything since yesterday! No druqs involved, that's just the way my body functions. Yes, I'm skinny as a rail, but I aint sickly in the least, and I always seem to have the energy to keep on trucking.
vitamins
That's so simple but brilliant! I can't believe I hadn't thought about bringing a multi-vitamin. Next year for sure! My funk is lifting but perhaps it could have been avoided all together.
Wow lots of folks are sick. Strangely, I'm not. I was hoarse for a few days but I'm all good now.
In the weeks leading up to Roo this year, and while at Roo I took Emergen-C. Unsure if that helped at all but, hey, I'm not sick so I'd like to say that it did.
