Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Seems like a bad omen to me. If people are bringing guns to Roo, you can be sure that the searches coming in will be a million times worse in the years to come. Bad news.

Here's the text:
Another Bonnaroo has wrapped up and the festival goers have left the area.
This year there was one individual who died while attending the annual event. According to Coffee County Sheriff Steve Graves, Zachary Shuck died Thursday at a Nashville hospital after being flown there after suffering problems at Bonnaroo. Shuck was transported from the festival to the medical tents where he was treated and then placed in a waiting helicopter and flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died.
“We will have to wait on the Metro Medical Examiner to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death,” Sheriff Graves said Tuesday morning. “They will notify us when the autopsy is to be performed and we will go from there.” The sheriff said that once that autopsy is completed then the cause of death will be determined.
Investigators from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at Bonnaroo Sunday night. According to Graves, Crockett Burgess, 23, of North Collins St., Tullahoma, told officers that he was shot while attending the festival. According to Investigator Sgt. Danny Ferrell, Burgess was shot in the left leg just below the knee. He was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Burgess told deputies that he did not know who shot him or why.
Deputies were busy this year seizing NO NO WORD!!!. Sunday afternoon Sgt Kelly Smith of the sheriff’s department seized 15 to 20 pounds of Rice Krispies that were laced with marijuana.
“We also seized LSD, cocaine, ecstasy, mushrooms, synthetic NO NO WORD!!! and a lot of marijuana,” Graves stated.
This year deputies also seized a lot of peanut butter.
“We found several jars crammed full of marijuana and mushrooms,” the sheriff stated.
Deputies found that some of the festival attendees would cram marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms in the peanut butter in hopes that drug-sniffing dogs would not detect the NO NO WORD!!!.
“We had been seeing a lot of stuff on Bonnaroo chat sites about placing the NO NO WORD!!! in the peanut butter,” the sheriff said. He admitted that some jars did get by officers.
According to the sheriff there were at least 410 citations issued by local law enforcement and over 40 arrests made during the four days people were here for Bonnaroo. The sheriff stated that the arrests were about the same as last year but there were more citations issued than last year. The 100 state troopers who were in Manchester for the festival wrote a number of tickets as well. A number of citations written by THP was not released by the department of safety at press time.
I read it. It's official we have one death this year so far.
The gun thing seems sketchy. He was shot but doesn't know by who or why? I know they are looking into this more, though.
I wouldn't worry about it leading to worse searches just yet. I do believe there have been similar incidents in the past (just not very often).
One thing to point out though:

You see, this is also one reason why there's no druq talk on inforoo. Be careful what you say on the internet. Never know who is reading it.

WTF? A gun at Roo? Really? And on another note, how many dogs did everyone see this year? I saw so many, I was under the assumption that dogs were not allowed at Bonnaroo, campgrounds or Centeroo.

They aren't allowed but people bring them anyway. Sometimes it's damn near abuse what they do (leave them in a car all day).
I didn't see any dogs until Sunday. When some wooks showed up a few of them had dogs with them.

i saw a few dogs, but they had 'service' tags on them.
1 guy who had a dog with a service tag was selling illegal substances!!

ITM please tell me Zachery Shuck is not one of our members. I mean it is super tragic that this person didn't make it back whether we knew him or not. I just hate to hear that it’s a board member.

As far as we know he's not a board member, but if anyone has more info on that topic please let us know.
It's terrible regardless. Losing a life at Bonnaroo just sucks all around. Apparently it happened on Thursday so who knows if this is Bonnaroo related (heat, partying too hard, etc.) or if it's more of a personal thing (maybe he had some sickness or ailment or something similar). Guess we'll know more after the autopsy.
It is so sad to hear about the death and I cant imagine what the family is going through right now. on another not how the eff are you allegedly shot! You either are shot or not whether you shot yourself or not. I would like to see where that story goes in the next few weeks. On the dog scenario I saw someone with 2 puppies but he carried them in his jacket not sure how he got through centeroo..I am not shocked out of 90,000 people shiz gets through the tollbooths but I am surprised what makes it through centeroo.
Thursday morning my camp heard sirens coming. We looked up and saw a cart with paramedics doing chest compressions on someone being escorted by deputies through Pod 2.

I'm not sure but I think the "alleged" part is that it happened at Bonnaroo.
Actually, where did you read "allegedy shot"? I don't see it in that article.

We heard a bunch of sirens Monday morning and saw a helicopter taking off from the west side of Centeroo. Whoever it was is okay, I guess, since it hasn't been mentioned in the news.
I was just telling my mom how thankfully no one died at Roo this year. Very sad to hear that. I saw a guy with a dog that did not appear to be blind or vision impaired at all. The dog looked like one that you see transient kids in the Pacific NW with. I just assumed it was a thing where the guy got the dog prescribed to help with depression. I hope no dogs passed away at Roo this year either. Thankfully the weather was amenable to keeping people alive this time around so we didn't lose any more.
Sometimes dogs are paired up with people who are epileptic or suffer seizures I believe. I could be wrong though. But it may possible it was for medical reasons even if not obvious.

I know it was thursday evening when I was at the other tent waiting for a show and the guy next to me was carted off. he was completely non responsive when they picked him up. while it really sucks to see that, it does keep me grounded and away from anything other than beer and cigs and the occasional piece of corn. heck, even too much of that and I am panicky...
from the Obit I found the one who died was from Kokomo, IN. So sad to hear of it. he was not the one I spoke about above.
On the dog front, I was totally happy when I realized Sunday morning that I hadn't seen anybody with dogs all weekend. By Sunday evening I had seen at least a dozen. So pissed.
And seriously, how do you sneak a dog into centeroo? I saw people being turned away with squirt guns but people are getting through with canines?
And, let's say for arguement's sake that they didn't get through a regular checkpoint. Not one single staff person is willing to step up? It's just not a safe environment for a dog to be in.
Maybe if they saw the dog on somebody's shoulders under a tent then they'd take notice...

Nothing "damn near" about it. That is straight up abuse, in June in Tennessee.
Unless it's a medical dog, leave the pooch at home, folks. I love dogs and I love camping, but Bonnaroo is not the place.

We had our tent poles in a separate bag and the guys searching us were grilling us about them being baseball bats. Yes, I am transporting a black bag of ten baseball bats. My tent stands by itself with magical unicorn powder.
I, for one, am not surprised about the gun thing. In 2010 my neighbors were threatened with 2 knives and a gun at camp. Luckily the area was populated and security got those a-holes out right away.

The "alleged" part is in the article title, but yeah, they don't really mention that in the article.

Ya, we actually ended up asking a girl how she got her dog in because she was walking fine.. no stick or anything to help her, so we were like dogs are allowed..?
She was epileptic, and that was her watcher. He was trained to go get help, giver her her meds when/if needed. It was actually pretty cool, I thought.. ..not that she has seizures, but you know.
