Is Le Castle Vania any good? They're playing at a small local club Friday and I saw a video of them at 2009 EDC with a massive crowd. Anyone have any input?
Saw him at IDFest Vegas. Meh. Dont waste your time and money.

I think if Bonnaroo does in fact add an EDM area this year or go heavier on the EDM in general, that the recent additions to Wakarusa bode well for Bonnaroo

Wait...TEED and Icona Pop got added to Wakarusa?
They have to play Roo then, right? That would make me very happy. I only saw the second half of TEED at Lolla last year, but it was a great show. Even at 3 in the afternoon. A LN show would be the shizz.
Are most of us under the impression that we will only get one big EDM artist this year? Between Deadmau5, Avicii, Calvin Harris, Kaskade, etc there are plenty of big festivals draws, especially since EDM is so popular right now. But I can't see Roo giving more than one LN Which spot to EDM. After Bassnectar's overflowing tent in 2011, would Roo put any of the above artists in a tent this year?
I guess a big unknown is the possible EDM tent/stage this year. But it would have to be bigger than the regular tents (a la Perry's at Lolla) to fit any of the big DJs.
Didn't they try to do an EDM stage/ tent a few years ago and it wasn't a big hit?

It was fun while you were at the stage, but it failed because of horrible sound bleed across the whole damn farm. They're hoping to alleviate that this time around.

So, Spring Awakening is in Chicago during Roo weekend this year. Bassnectar and Calvin Harris are headlining. Does this hurt Bonnaroo in that they will draw acts away or help Bonnaroo in that EDM acts will be in the area and can play both?

I think Bassnectar could play Friday/Saturday at Bonnaroo and the next day in Chicago. I don't think Calvin Harris will be at Bonnaroo, but it's still possible.

Saturday and Sunday seem like strange days to have an EDM festival. Seems like Friday and Saturday makes more sense. But I agree with Belgian, its possible that we could still get a bigger act on Friday that is playing Spring Awakening on Sunday.
Edit: The dates are also listed on their facebook.
This lineup could actually be quite revealing in terms of potential EDM acts for Bonnaroo. Even though its the same weekend, it will give us an idea of what acts are touring in the midwest/northerly south area around that time.
As far as a new EDM stage goes, I would be all for this but just don't know where they would put it to make sense. What if they brought back the arcade and just had house music playing late night in it. Have the bigger acts play in tents and have some smaller house djs playing in the arcade?
Seeing Dillon Francis for free on Saturday... I skipped his set at Bisco in order to watch Archnemesis. I listened to him a bit on Spotify and he doesn't really appeal to me too much. But the show is free, so can't beat that. If they add an EDM stage I'd imagine he'd be the type of act they'd get to fill out the day.
I have a small amount of information regarding Bassnectar.
When asked if he would be making a return to the farm this year...I was given the "I can't really say" answer. The person who told me this, I feel, would have given me a straight No answer if he wasn't going to be there like he has with other festivals.
Take it for what it is worth.
I just hope this means there will in fact be an EDM stage/tent. If not, Bassnectar and Pretty Lights are some of the laziest bookings possible. I like both acts, but they were just at Bonnaroo year before last, and that was Bassnectars second year in a row. Bassnectar has played the last 2 Forecastles as well. I guess I just hope ACE has something new up their sleeves as far as EDM acts go.
