linusenvy....the funny part is i'm sure there are some that arent on that list. People love labels. Something can't just be unique. Somebody has to come up with a name for it....and then usually somebody copies it. Thus, a genre is born.

I saw Hawtin at Moog too. It was pretty amazing because he kept the same tempo/beat for almost the entire set, but I wasn't bored at all and actually had a hard time tearing myself away from his show. Super hypnotic stuff.

Yea, after seeing that show is why I classified him as minimal house.

Quoted for truth. Genres are for people who want to feel cool.
He has to have that ridiculous production to make listening to his music even close to bearable. That being said, I'd prob check him out for a few minutes, just to see the setup. But man that robot dubstep grimey crap he makes is cheap and horrible.

I agree, it was hard to dance to his stuff. He only plays an actual song every 20 minutes. His openers were good (Vaski and Zomboy).

Oh, I get that. It was an experience to say the least but the music wasn't incredible. Just a bunch of kids waiting for drops. However, Paper Diamond was pretty killer.
Do y'all think there's any chance at all we could get Fatboy Slim? He's playing Ultra again this year.
He was a surprising highlight for me at EDC NY last year. So i can definitely get behind this. Also, saw Eric Prydz Thanksgiving eve and he really blew me away. He could hold down a Which LN, but his popularity would keep probably him in a tent.
I'm pretty out of the loop on the EDM scene (compared to averaging a pretty big show a week a year ago) so I haven't heard of Eric Prydz. I don't really care who's there outside of wanting to see Bassnectar and/or Pretty Lights, but I would definitely like to see Fatboy Slim. Heard nothing but good things about his Ultra set.
I hope the crystal method comes back this year. That 2010 show was amazing
It was pretty damn good. I've seen them several times now and they've never dissappointed. And seeing em on the farm was pretty great.
Oh how i miss the Lunar Stage. F' the sound bleed. For one glorious year we had Crystal Method, Afrojack, Kaskade, Timo Maas, Dieselboy, Sharam, Lee Burrdige, Danny Howells,...and more. Are you shitting me? That happened? Fuck yes it did. Couldn't have been happier and ended every night on the farm there.
I'm really hoping we get an EDM stage this year! I really want to see Knife Party and Zedd this year, with both of them playing Coachella I think we have a chance!
Bassnectar just announced a date in May in Chatanooga... I think that counts him out for roo
I wouldn't count on that. Track 29 is not a huge venue. He did a huge tour before he last played in 2011 that hit a lot of cities around Roo plus AC is presenting the Track 29 show.
He also decided to hit up Atlanta for two dates and not one Florida date... wtf
No NYC date either =\ I gotta drive to upstate NY or take a train to Philly if I wanna see him on this go around. Lamery.
Roseland & T5 were already all booked up, I would think. He can't play anywhere smaller than that (Webster Hall would f*cking implode if he tried to go there and he's not quite big enough for MSG/Barclay's).
