I've found myself listening to a lot of DJ mixes at work. I've worn out DJ Carnage's "Festival Trap", along with all the recent AVB ASOT mixes on Spotify. Anyone care to point me to some good sets? Like on soundcloud, itunes podcasts, or even beatport, I'll pay if its good enough.
I'm fine with anything from big names to smaller names, whatever's cool. I will say I typically am left uninspired by Tiesto's Club Life podcasts.
I like all kinds of EDM, trance, house, dubstep, whatever. I know I'm not giving you a lot to go on, but I guess if you've recently heard a mix or podcast you've enjoyed, just recommend it here so I can check it out. Thanks!

Fireflys EDM lineup gives me hope for MGMT, ZEDD, and Calvin Harris. Big Galactic will probably not repeat and got subbed with Pretty Lights. No Mau5 on the scene makes me think hes not coming out of his hole till next year.

Did you seriously just mention MGMT in this thread?

I was pretty sure that you had covered that with me at some point. I was just joking as most assume you like every terrible EDM artist rather than just 95% of them.
Ok im thinking glowsticks and dance music with my previous post i guess if someone can enlighten me please feel free just dont include "EDM is all like sweet drops and skrillex" because I hate both and really like the classic house/trance/electro genres that keep tempo all night. If i wanted to headbang, id go to a Priest show. \m/

Yupp I see what I did there...thanks for the correction lol force of habit I called them that all spring last year until I got to Roo and someone corrected me at the show. Seeing them on Friday actually in Philly encase they dont repeat.
Interesting. As someone who is over 25, who would you rather see?
Well, here goes:
Knife Party Bassnectar Flosstradamus Nero Diplo Justice Kill The Noise Noisia Deadmau5 Modestep Zeds Dead Excision Felix Da Housecat
etc etc etc
I'm just not a big fan of Harris' super poppy production style. I also would hope that Bonnaroo would bring EDM acts that draw less bros.
Yea with that list I see where your coming from. I was genuinely curious. He is a lil overly poppy ill give you that. Im a fan of vocals and lean more to the poppy up tempo stuff and less towards the "drop the bass" which has taken over in recent years. So to me, Calvin Harris going overboard is just in response to the lack of it across the EDM genres. Justice and diplo im huge fans of. Deadmau5 keeps me interested but his drops deter me but i like a majority of his stuff. Bassnectar is where i draw the dubstep line.

Fair points. I lean heavy towards trap/groove oriented music but have a soft spot for dubstep. I'm also an old-school hardcore/metal kid so the intensity in the heavier forms of EDM attracts me. I'm happier with Deadmau5 taking out the drops in his later work. I'm always open for everything but I've just never been into anything that's super poppy. It needs an edge for me.

prhbtn Dubstep is a definite edge. It took me awhile to make the connection of dubstep and heavier rock. Coming from listening to EDM of the 90s, I noticed how the drops just started going way off the reservation in terms of tempo and flow of the song. I didnt like it, especially since early on it was kinda housey intros and "verses" then the drop would show up outta nowhere...dang you dubstep. Now its a whole genre in and above itself which i can clearly define between artist with some still a little in between. Whether going forwards or back, dubstep has let a mark of influence on electronic artist.
But also he is playing Beale Street Music Fest in May which I'm worried will interfere with the radius clause. You never know though, they could still book him because they know he draws a huge crowd.
We will see tomorrow but I am very confident his name is going to be on the lineup.
No Bassnectar nor STS9 this year Lineup is still pretty good though.
