I'll mention it again on this page: Anyone thinking of hitting this up is more than welcome to camp/crash at my place to save some cash. I'm sure we'll be grillin' and drankin' in bulk, as well.
University of Kentucky student 4-day Festival Pass: $40 (available with a valid student ID at the UK Ticketmaster box office during regular business hours). Tickets for Jeff Mangum, The Music Tapes and William Tyler at the Kentucky Theatre (Thursday, September 20, 7 p.m., general admission) will be $25 (plus Ticketmaster fees, over which we have no control), and can be purchased online HERE or at the University of Kentucky Ticketmaster Box Office during regular business hours. This show will be all ages. PLEASE NOTE THAT ABSOLUTELY NO PHOTOGRAPHY WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THIS SHOW! No exceptions. Tickets for DOOMSLANG at Buster’s (Saturday, September 22, 7:30 p.m.) featuring Saint Vitus, Baroness, Weedeater, Author & Punisher and White Hills, will also be $25 + fees and can purchased HERE or at the University of Kentucky Student Center Box Office during regular business hours. This show is for ages 18+. Tickets for The Jesus & Mary Chain, Dinosaur Feathers and more TBA at Buster’s (Sunday, September 23, 8 p.m.) will also be $25 + fees, and can be purchased HERE or at the University of Kentucky Student Center Box Office during regular business hours. This show is for ages 18+. Weekend passes (by far the best deal – also including entry to see Deerhoof, Oneohtrix Point Never, Gary War, Negativland, Cloud Nothings, Futurebirds and more!) will remain $70 until they are gone. Purchasing any of the above tickets guarantees your entry to that show; festival pass holders will receive priority entry to all other shows. IF A SHOW SELLS OUT, we will reserve a place at all the aforementioned shows for all festival pass holders AND individual pass holders up to a certain point (around a half hour after show time), at which time, we may release additional individual passes if we feel safe in assuming festival pass holders are not going to show up. Please arrive on time to help guarantee your entry (and the best seat possible)! Individual tickets to some of the other shows (i.e., Deerhoof, Das Racist, Cloud Nothings, etc.) may be released closer to the festival
So... basic schedule info... Thurs Eve- Jeff Magnum + Music Tapes = Neutral Milk Hotel. Fri- Random sets from Deerhoof, Das Racist & Cloud Nothings. Sat Nite- Doomslang with St Vitus, Baroness & Weedeater. Sun Nite- Jesus & Mary Chain. Sat & Sun days will be filled in with smaller sets and arts events.

to mark Are you guys really playing Boomslang fest in KY? I'm about to make travel arrangements and buy tickets etc. but I noticed theirs nothing on your website about playing any shows anytime soon, not to mention that Negativland on their flyer isn't in large fonts at the top of the page but buried in with the other acts in a standard font size. I'm worried that the Negativland on that flyer is not the Negativland I'm looking for, you guys.
So before I go spend what to me is allot of money to get time off, travel to KY, hotel room, tickets, etc. Can you please confirm that it is in fact the real Negativland, you guys, playing this fest?
Thank you, Adam

to me HI!
Yes, it'll be the real us! Though, for this show, it may only be two of us, not three. It's a very different kind of show than any we have done in past tours - all based around our home-made electronic noise makers we call "Boopers."
We are also playing in LA on Sept. 6th at the Echoplex ( with three of us, for sure) and having a large show of our visual art work opening n Sept. 7th.
Sure. Let's party. I've also been emailing Boomslang suggestions for Baroness replacements, considering they should have some freed up funds to get another strong metal act.

Random suggestions included Deicide, Converge, Lightning Bolt, Unsane, Archers of Loaf, Descendents, Melvins, Big Business, Down, Black Breath, Russian Circles, Pelican, Today is the Day, YOB, Whores., Tombs, Pallbearer, Indian, Atlas Moth.
Melvins & Tweak Bird are playing The Vernon Club sunday night. That would be insane if they did two shows in one day right in the middle of their world record 51 day/state tour.
The Music Tapes, who will also be playing, is a key member of Neutral Milk Hotel & The Elephant 6 Collective. So, I'm naively hoping/praying for a full-on reunion set.
I can't come the whole weekend, but I'm thinking about making a 6 hour trip for the Thursday show alone in the hopes of that.
Whoa... so did you really just suggest a NMH reunion? That would be amazing. I honestly expected George and John to reanimate and join Paul and Ringo for a Beatles reunion before NMH did a show again.
I can't come for the weekend but I'm thinking of driving up for just Thursday. (If someone will fill my tank up with gas, I'm in!) Are you going to that Jeff Mangum show?
Hey whoreslack, I live in Lexington and am looking for some people to party with this for Boomslang this weekend. You care of I meet up with you guys? I'll private message you my cell.
