I'm glad I put off buying my ticket. I wish I could go but money has become tight recently (in other words, my daughter is very expensive) plus I'm suddenly out of a babysitter. My uncle passed away this morning and my parents are heading to northern Illinois first thing tomorrow morning and won't be back until Monday. Somebody please drink and get weird for me and at least let me know how Doomslang was. I hope you guys have a blast!

Notes from the frontline: 1 keg down, EasyMorningRebel slept through all three acts last night & MonkeyBunny got thrown out of Deerhoof for levitating. Buke & Gase rule & I may or may not have cried during Jeff Magnum. Bacon biscuits and bloodys before Cloud Nothings matinee.

Singer was drrunk. Enough for me to notice. Kept breaking mic-stands.
Best sets:
White Hills (catch them at all costs) Jeff Magnum Buke & Gase (an amazing surprise) Weedeater (brutal) Cloud Nothings Deerhoof Negativeland William Tyler Wooden Wand/Warren Byrom in-store performance Gary War
Overall, great little fest for 40$. Hardly a let-down set all weekend outta 20+ bands. Nice to meet Monkeybunny & Bansheebeat. 60 lbs of jerk chicken smoked and consumed along with a wheelbarrow fulla red beans & rice and much beer/bourbon. Anyone in the mid-south, keep this in mind for next fall.

Turns out Buke and Gase are playing in a couple weeks at the club I happened to be at last night!

It was awesome and totaly worth it despite the Deerhoof incident! I'm coming back. Damn that was some good chicken!

Interesting lineup as usual. Nothing jumps out at me like Mangum did last year. The Blow, Com Truise, Youth Lagoon, and Kim Gordon are all pretty awesome. I'll probably try and see at least one or two of those acts.
Glad somebody can get excited about this because it's not doing a whole lot for me. I was hoping we might see Peter Hook or Pere Ubu on there since both are touring in the fall and will be in our region. There's still the "more to be announced..." to cling to I suppose.
