Joshua Bigboomboom Arteaga: Guys I am on the main promotion team for UR1. The line up has been held because they are still in the process of securing certain acts. The line up will be released shortly. Thank you for your patience.
That post is not from UR1 though. It's from a guy on facebook who says that he works for the promotion team. The official UR1 page hasn't said anything.

It didn't surprise me, but it annoys me that they try and play it off like they never had a set date to begin with. They make no announcement at all. I would have been alot less frustrated, and alot more hyped if they would have just went and said "We're trying to secure some exciting last minute additions. Phase 1 lineup will be later this month"

Still no word on this, right? I don't even expect to go unless they pull Daft Punk or something insane, but it's pretty ridiculous that they're a week overdue and haven't really given an idea of a new date.
Do you guys in Florida even think this is going to happen this year?

This is my best guess of what happened. Absolutely no evidence here, just best guesses and my imagination.
These guys are trying to go big. They tried to get Red Hot Chili Peppers with a low-ball offer, had them on the hook for a while, and lost them. Now they're scrambling hard to find someone else who is just as big of a draw, and they probably can't quite afford anyone they deem to be big enough to headline the kind of festival they want to put on. Either they'll get someone that works in the next few weeks, or they won't - in which case we'll either have a festival with shizzy headliners or they'll cut their losses and cancel the thing

And tbh, while I know that no matter what I'll be very very tempted to go to this festival even with a mediocre line-up, I'm probably going to try to abstain from going unless the line-up is really great. I'm pretty broke this year, and there's a ton of really great and FREE things to do Art Basel weekend that I'll be missing out on if I go to this. TBCH I'm kind of hoping the lineup sucks
We just need to start spreading mad rumors that the festival has been canceled. Post it enough everywhere that a semi reliable blog source picks up on it and reports it. THEN I bet their asses will come out of hiding!
