I had been debating about buying tickets to see The National in Philly pre-bonnaroo due to the cluster-cuss of schedule conflict with them. But I'm cheap and the tickets arent so I hadnt pulled the trigger until....
I listened to the new album this weekend. Tickets bought. Damn its good, looking forward to see how they perform it live.
I made the decision, despite The National being my top 3 favourite bands in the world, I made the decision to skip them to see Tame Impala and the whole Divine Fits set, and Byrne/StV. Divine Fits ended up being myabe my favoutire show of the weekend, so there is no regret, but I just KNOW that I missed an amazing National set. I want to hearthe new album live, and to make it worse, they played in Toronto the same weekend as Roo (for free too!), so I missed them seeing them for awhile.
I stand by my decision, as I have seen them before, but I am very sad that I missed this set.

The National are one of my absolute all-time favorite bands. I watched the first half before heading over to Which for David Byrne/St. Vincent, but it still pained me to have to leave. Was worth the sacrifice, though. David and Annie won't tour together much longer. The National will. And it was a stellar show.
