I keep having flashbacks to last night's feast of lobster, stuffed clams, scallops, ribs, wings, stuffies, meatballs and more...esp. since I'm stuck in the bus station all night...where my dinner consists of a bag of pretzels and water!
Uh-oh...you're still stuck in the bus station? Sorry to hear that, holls. Thought somebody was picking you up a while ago.
Thanks so much to Fawn and Quacker for putting all of us misfits up for the weekend. It was beyond amazing. It was great to meet everyone there that I hadn't met before and hang with everyone all weekend. It was definitely a memorable one. And considering everything that was consumed throughout, that's quite a feat
WOW! What a weekend! ;D Got home a little while ago and still feeling the clouds that make Quack Club the heaven that it is. Last year, I got to experience this... this thing called QC, it was split up into 2 weeks, but it was just as amazing! I wanted others to see it. There are some great newcomers this year! Glad you all could make it. Believe it or not, you all make QC what it is. You do. I mean, who is gonna eat all that food and drink all those 42 different kinds of beers? With out you all, who is gonna keep me laughing from the time I get up to the time I pass out? You all make the QC what it is. Which, "It is like Shangri-La, but its a PARTY!"-Da' CAT. Welcome to the Club!
On a more serious note; This year was truly special for me. Made some new friends, and it was very enjoyable to step back and watch everyone experience, like I did last year, the beauty of RI /Fort Adams, the giving, the hospitality, the kindness and the LOVE that the QC has to offer. Thank you guys!!!
Fawn, you mentioned how much it meant to Paulie when she got her, hard earned, well-deserved "THANK YOU!!!" ovation from all of us on Sunday night. If that felt good, I know a card in a few days will feel amazing. ;D I would like to carry that greatly appreciated feeling on a wee bit more. I would like to send her a card, a simple "Thank You!" card. Would it be okay to ask for her address? Not on here, send me a PM? If so desired, would it be okay for other QC participates, who might want to send her a card, to get her digits?

Scrog - this is amazingly thoughtful as always. This would mean a lot to Pauline, and it would mean the world to Tara as she uses a decent portion of her vacation time to share this experience with us and help out her auntie as much as possible to make it a glorious weekend.
I'll send a pm later today to QC 2012 with addresses. Thank you so much to those that can make post QC all that more memorable to the 'Quack Club support team' by sending a card!!!
Fawn getting to meet Taylor Goldsmith from Dawes was absolutely positive karma for the amazing weekend she set up for all of us.
Details? When did this happen? I missed it. That's awesome
Not much into the celeb thing however it was a huge thrill for me to be able to express my sincere appreciation for their talent and music directly to the band.
Quacker tipped me off to their presence in the Quad beer tent. They were playing ping pong. Got to chat, get the scoop on him sitting in with Coner and JB, as well as having my schedule autographed and getting a few pictures. As K said, it truly felt like karma gave me a thank you and i glowed the rest of the day. ;D
I don't really know how much I can add to this other than to agree with everyone that ya'll were the finest hosts I could ever imagine. Thank you so much for opening your house to us crazy band of weirdos. I had such an unbelievably amazing time that I can barely describe it.
It was so great meeting a few of you for the first time and hanging out with everyone. Over the various fests this summer I have been fully converted from the lone wolf festival style to wanting to spend as much time with people as possible. I got depressed when i got to the airport when I realized I probably won't see most of you until Roo next year at the soonest, but it will make the prize at the end of the wait all that much sweeter.
I don't think I could ever say thanks enough, but thank you.
Newport was a great fest. I love that it is a bit more intimate than some of the other festivals. I enjoyed meeting all of you this weekend and drinking all the fantastic beers from all over the country. I will post some pics on here where I have a days rest. I would love to see that group photo of us posted on here.
yes... Kat and Adam had already left for NFF and I think you were quaffing for the day ahead.
Pics are uploading to PB now.. Will get the group one up first.
Soon as I get the laundry finished I propose a game - limited to the QC attendees- called 'Who's sh-i-i-t is this?'
Pretty sure i know 99% of the owners. So if you are missing something - dont post it... PM me. I have a fine collection going.
In the next day or two I will post all of the pics of lost and founds. Attendees can than PM me with their best guess on the owner of each item left behind. Let's see who can remember details of the weekend No asking your peeps. Most correct answers wins a fabulous prize
All - if you did not get one of Sausages amazing QC posters, please let me know and I can send one to you while supplies last.
PS.. danbird or ITM - could you resize the pic in Quackers post?
Pay attention all... this little guy will be on stage at Roo in another 15? years?
His Mom? let him stand on a barrel at the back of the tent for Of Monsters and Men. Got to high five and speak to him for just a minute. His name is Merrick and he 'Knows EVERY word on the whole album". We watched him for most of the show along with tons of other people. Unfortunately this is when my camera battery died so it is very short. He started adding his dance moves right after it cut out. I hope someone else there thought to get some more video of this cutie.
Having resizing issues with PB again. Will work on it.
Fawn, if you want to upload all your stuff to Photobucket or wherever and send me a link I can resize a bunch of them or whatever. Let me know if I can help
I'll also resize the Quacker photo in a little while when i'm home.

And it's been mentioned slightly but Bacon/Sausage made the most awesome poster for the weekend and should be commended for it. I stole this pic from Jay's facebook page (hope he doesn't mind):
Bacon - you gotta post a higher quality version in this thread at some point if possible. Really great work you did.
As always if anyone sees anything inappropriate or objects let me know and I will remove. I try to screen carefully. Shall post just enough to represent..

So we told everyone treat this like the bonaroo walls.. all sheets on the line are fair game, spray paint provided. Rumor has it one of the QClubbers made the mistake of hanging their sheet on the line and now has happy bunny sheets.
Post quack club blues.... breaking it all down
Big thanks to those on monday that took one for the team and got us down to one cooler left of chilled stock
Have a few more from the phone to get out here.. and will take a pic of the very impressive recycle pile that will be out thursday for garbage day
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Quack Clubbers 2012 for an AMAZING weekend!!!
All - if you did not get one of Sausages amazing QC posters, please let me know and I can send one to you while supplies last.
I only saw the two on the fridge, I did not realize there were a bunch more.
I hope you are keeping one for yourself, frame that shizz and put it on the wall.
I can swing on down with Heather and pick one up in person in a week or two. Let me know what's good for you. Besides this coming Saturday, any Fri/Sat/Sun works fine with me.
I'm so glad people liked the poster, with flying cross country beer and food was hard to bring but I wanted to have something. I have played around with photoshop and illustrator before but never with a goal of actually producing something. Even though I knew it came out well and I had a ton of fun making it I was strangely nervous to show everyone, so I was really glad everyone liked it.

It was really well done. Simple yet perfect for the weekend. The attention to detail on the text is awesome and the rubber duck is just a fantastic touch.
Had the ABSOLUTE pleasure to watch Bacon come out with his posters and can attest that he was nervous, waited, and quietly said I brought a little something for everyone.
A little something frame-able and over the top!!! Frickin cutie too! ;D
Sooo torn about the QC 2013 planning. Having QC not around the festival - more time for the whole group together without the timing/travel logistics . QC with the fest - more time for smaller groups to sit, talk, get to know folks better in smaller groups due to folks coming and going. What to do..
Shall come clean.. have a little man-crush on Dancat and Roofan... my heaven they made me laugh and laugh. I do a pretty damn good Roofan impression now .
Sotopop... Ugh.. all the fresh fruit before hand - basement fridge was too cold... ick.... carving up your farm fresh tomorrow and going to gorge!!! TY, TY, TY !!! Wish I could have had more time to sit and chat with you!! Come back soon - go see a show with Quacker and hang out.
Kat and Adam.. same.. Adam - TY for driving!!! Bring your beautiful wife back to teach me more! She rocks!
All - thank you for making this such a memorable weekend! We are both so greatful to have the opportunity to share a weekend with such good, fun, caring peeps.

The map part is from an old map released in 1895.
Okay Bacon/Sausage/Baecwon - that thing is seriously awesome. I'm very unartistic and I respect the hell out of people who can do stuff like this - very cool. Makes me wish I had been there even more.
After a day to reflect on this past weekend, I'm finally able to put my thoughts to paper...er, I mean computer. Where to start? I feel like I spent as much time telling my friends about Quack Club as I did the shows. I met a bunch of cool ass people, none as cool as the two gracious hosts. Fawn and Quacker thought of everything this weekend and I don't think it could've went any better than it did. Catered meals in the morning and catered dinners waiting for us when we returned from the fest- unreal. You guys are something else, kharma owes ur asses big time.
-Arriving late on Friday only to be immmediately chauffered to the Deer Tick show in a freaking limo with ITM, Bacon, and Danbird- thats a memory I won't ever forget. Thats gotta be one of the most obnoxious things I've ever done and I loved every minute of it. I don't remember the limo ride home but I do remember Fawn giving me two ibuprofen and guiding my blacked out ass to bed. You are a saint.
-Thinking I was the first one up every morning only to walk outside and find Dancat cleaning with one hand while holding a Yuengling in the other. That cat knows how to party. I enjoyed our early morning conversations, u actually prob got to hear me talk more than everyone else combined. I guess I'm not as shy when I'm still wasted in the am.
Roofan- I can't even look at a picture of Skrillex without hearing your voice. I'm taking my shit and going home or driving to Mars in my space ship to play for aliens cuz they understand me. You're a funny ass motherfucker and your storytelling is top notch.
Bacon- the poster was awesome, and I didn't notice til I got home the pig nose and pork product tag in the top corner. What a great touch and I thank you. Hopefully I run into you next weekend at Red Rocks.
Kat and Stillwater- thanks for the DT ticket, I really enjoyed talking to you guys and I hope to meet up when I get down to Hampton to visit my buddy. Had a blast with both of you at the aftershows.
Danbird- thanks again for roadtripping with me and navigating for us. Hopefully we will meet up soon for some Philly shows- like the upcoming Jacket show. I'll be expecting you to pick me up in a limo by the way cuz that's how we roll from now on.
Bunny- thanks for making me feel at home all weekend. U have great energy and I enjoyed your company. You make me smile when you talk.
Katy Mae- thanks for the Jolly Rancher.
Quacker, Fawn, Stillwater and Scrog- thanks for driving our drunk asses to and fro all weekend, greatly appreciated.
Ol' Dirty- thanks for the umbrella during Tallest Man on Earth; I saw you taking care of Holls during Jackson Browne too- ur a thoughtful dude.
ITM, Holls, Karosko, Scrog the Purple Pimp, LD, Bonzai, Katy Mae- I didn't get to talk to any of you very much but you are all cool peeps and I enjoyed your company. If I forgot anyone its only cuz I forgot ur name or handle but you were cool too
Musical highlights:
-MMJ with Brittany Howard covering It Makes No Difference -MMJ with Conor Oberst on Smoking from Shooting -Conor with Jim James on At The Bottom Of Everything -Anything that Gary Clark Jr. played -Sharon Van Etten telling some dude to get the quack out if you're gonna do that ish while not missing a line to the song. -New Multitudes -Everyone bouncing in the rain singing I'm Amazed to close out Saturday night
Two biggest highlights besides Gary Clark Jr:
Jackson Browne and Dawes covering Lawyers, Guns and Money with Tom Morello breaking out some RATM licks- words cant describe how freaking awesome that was. I hope video surfaces soon.
A surprise Middle Brother set into Deervana with Vasquez going apeshit into Deer Tick. Best $20 show I've ever been to.
It was great to finally put some names to faces, and I hope to see all of you again soon. I'm pretty shy and introverted, obviously, but you guys all helped to make my weekend a memorable one. Fawn and Quacker are some great people and without them this never would've been possible for me and I'm sure alot of other people as well. You are all good people and I'm very glad to have the privilege to have met all of you. Guess you were right Roofan- maybe I am writing a book. Sorry this was so long guys but I had alot of wonderful memories I felt needed to be shared. Take care and I'll catch ya'll on the flipside

Roofan- I can't even look at a picture of Skrillex without hearing your voice. I'm taking my shiz and going home or driving to Mars in my space ship to play for aliens cuz they understand me. You're a funny ass motherquacker and your storytelling is top notch.
One of the funniest things this weekend is Roofan's Skrillex impression. So amazing.
ITM- I almost forgot: one of my other fond memories from the drunken shitshow at Deer Tick on Saturday nite was everytime some drunken fool would ram into me, I would immediately look to my right and have the privilege of watching same said drunk asshole plow into you 2 seconds later. It kept making me laugh and kept me from getting bent about it.

Oh man, people loved walking through and just bumping/pushing. Everywhere I moved to there was a walking path hahaha. Fantastic shows but the people could try staying still for a song or two.
What an amazing gathering. Everyone has put it into words much better than I ever could.
Fawn and Quacker - you two are the best, most generous, kind and thoughtful people. The amount of care and planning you put into the weekend is just unbelievable.
I am super happy everyone enjoyed Dan. He had such a great time.
Thank you everyone. Each of you made Quack Club special for me. I love you all so, so much. Pictures to follow.
