I didn't say a water bottle was a mug. I said it was a container, which it is.
What if it says that it specifically is for water use ONLY. Is it still a container? It is made for water only, it can not contain anything else...
A container is an item in which materials can be stored or transported. Just because it's intended for a particular kind of material doesn't mean it's not a container.
It really does make you reexamine your life. I was initially in the "No" camp, but you can't fight the facts. It is.
No it isn't.
Yes it is.
A sandwich is a food item consisting of one or more types of food placed on or between slices of bread, or more generally any dish wherein two or more pieces of bread serve as a container or wrapper for some other food.

Haven't any of you ever been to a restaurant? There's definitely a Sandwich section and a separate Burger section.

Just goes to show what an important sandwich the hamburger really is. It has it's own section.

Came in here to offer my assistance. As someone who has eaten a hamburger, I'm obviously an expert. A hamburger is NOT a sandwich. I will back this up with NO reasoning whatsoever.
But isnt a hamburger just the meat technically the meat anyway? I have served hamburgers with lettuce instead of buns. A hamburger isn't a sandwich
Insert the word 'patty' after each of your uses of the word hamburger. It should become clear.
Example: a hamburger patty isn't a sandwich - correct, without the bread, a hamburger patty is not a sandwich; the bread encapsulating something is the key.
Hamburger is a specific way to prepare raw meat, by chopping it up. You can put it in spaghetti - totally not a sandwich. Place it between bread = sandwich.

See how easy that was. A wrong answer with nothing to back it. Pretty much like most of our polls.

But I serve hamburgers with no bun and lettuce instead which definitely cannot be called a sandwich, but is still a hamburger. Therefore a hamburger is not a sandwich

Thank you for being so nice and proving my point: you serve hamburger patties on lettuce...so not a sandwich because no bread. Therefore a hamburger patty is not a sandwich without bread.
Couldn't have done it without you pal!

Only made it to page 4 then skipped to the end , it's a type of sandwich period . When you say you're getting a dog - there a many types of dogs . You don't say a "German Shepard dog" or a "poodle dog" , but are they the same or look the same ? No . But they are a type of the same family; as a burger is a type of sandwich
