I'm not entirely enlightened on the delicious muffaletta. But the only way I've had it served by one of my chef friends, and separately in New Orleans, was like a normal sandwich. It just wasn't served on "loaf-style" bread.
So it wouldn't be an open-faced bagel & cream cheese sandwich at that point?
open-faced sandwiches are a whole other can of worms tbph
And I am not payin' to assemble my own sandwich at a restaurant. That's why I went out in the first place: so I would not have to assemble my sandwich.
I'm pretty sure I said it earlier in this thread but it is simple. A hamburger by itself is not a sandwich. A hamburger on a bun or bread then becomes a sandwich. How is this hard and how did it require this many pages?

What the hell kind of hamburger isn't on a bun? That's just a beef patty salad.

A hamburger just off the grill and not yet placed on the bun is still a hamburger, right?
Although with your definitions I would order a beef patty salad as an appetizer for my hamburger and really enjoy that meal
